I've bought 3 keyboards (from different sellers) and all 3 get messed up again after a few months.

I got this one and its working good so far. But the space bar is a little loose so that bothers me. I should have tested it before putting it in and going through all that trouble.

I've never had a double typing issue with Q. She's almost two years old and performing well. I will admit she was initially bought for work and wasn't used much. Now she's being used personal use and hasn't double typed yet.

    So far so good.

Well, another Q10 arrived by FedEx. A good thing as the Z30 standby was beginning to act up - shut it self randomly 12 times yesterday, 3 the day before and 8 two days ago...Neither rhyme nor reason.

The Q10 in hand has a very plastic feeling keyboard. So much so that it feels like a fake keyboard. Will return with news if this keyboard begins to "misbehave".

I am so angry right now!! One white 2014 Q10 is affected with a hypersensitive 'W' key. Just send it back.

For the record: the Rev1 Keyboard mentioned in some other posts isnt a new version of the keyboard. My first Q10 wich I bought June 2013 and got the double typing issue after three months had the Rev1 on it! So for me the Rev1 are normal production keyboards!!

But the worst part- even the 2014 Q10s got keyboard problems:/
For me- BlackBerry has done nothing to fix the keyboards!!!!!

Here are some pictures as a proof about the Rev1 and another type of Keyboard!!

Thats a total of: 4 faulty Q10 out of 6!! (for now!!)

    Thats SAD!!

Oh and no, I dont believe BlackBerry that they fixed the keyboards in the Classic and the Passport!!!

Did I miss something? Blackberry said it fixed the problem? Or do you mean you don't believe Blackberry has fixed the problem in their new phones?

I suppose Passport and Classic adopters can hope and pray that they used the Q5's keyboard design instead of the Q10's. To my knowledge, the Q5's keyboard is reliable.

For what it is worth, I had my first and second Q10's from HK. So, assumed the symbols had something to do with Chinese input. However, as I use touch screen to enter Chinese characters, I wish BB Japanese would use the touch screen rather than the physical keyboard, I have never used the red symbols.

The next Q10 was from Canada, unlocked, and it did not have the symbols.

I've noticed that most of the 'new' replacement keyboards on eBay (whether from North American or Chinese vendors) have sticker residue on the back. They're clearly pulled from disassembled units. The residue is from the sticker/foil that lines the back of the battery compartment. It makes me wonder if a large number of units were written off and disassembled.

Anyways, to address the original point above, I think these replacements may not be new, but drawn from decommissioned units. So it's possible that they may date back to 2013.

As you can see from my signature, I've decommissioned the Q10, and downgraded to my old Torch 9810. Sad to say, it's a much better user experience; no double typing!

Now the fun begins; what'll be the next phone?

    I'm thinking:

Windows - but apps are lacking.
One Plus One - awesome hardware.
Nexus 5 - but no SD slot.

    What do you guys recommend?

It's no guarantee that it will double-type or be consistent. I've had my Q since launch in Canada (what's that, almost two years?) and really have experienced double-typing with my "a" key maybe 10 times or so. It comes and goes for me, but hardly something to be paranoid about.

I payed over 600 dollars for a wonderful BlackBerry. After 9 months it started to get the double typing issue. I might consider sending it to a repair store, but I feel this is just so unfair.

9 months, its still under warranty.

Mine was out of warranty and Rogers replaced my Q10 keyboard for $14.95. Fix the issue perfectly.

Well, if you switch from BB10, you'd be familiar with a poor app selection, so that shouldn't be a problem with Windows Phone. Productivity and efficiency however should be, I switched my main phone back to Q1# from Lumia 1020 (running 8.1) later this summer, because I just couldn't stand the way WP handles some simple tasks.

As for Android,, have you had a look at those Sony Xperia phones? They seem to be very underrated, got a Z1 Compact a few weeks back for my girlfriend, great display, good camera, compact package and absolutely decent hardware.
