I've recently ditched the Pixel 3a and gone to the Q10. I do not care how long/short the time I have left where the things I need still work. I'll ride it out!

In the vain of the "minimalism" trend and more and more folks recognizing the addiction they have to smartphones, I'm surprised more don't grab an older BlackBerry that does the basics well.

The fact that the app support isn't there, is almost a benefit to a productivity loving Era.

Even though I'm using a Classic now, the Q10 is the perfect size for my hands, has a changeable battery, is light and easy to hold, and I just loved using it. After 5 years of constant use, I wore out the keyboard, or I'd still be holding it now.

I never used a classic. (sprint doesn't support.) I was under the impression more people preferred the Classic over Q10!

So they say, but I guess I'm scared I'll break something else in the process. I've watched several videos and people with bigger hands than mine manage to do this. It looks like surgery (another field I'd never consider!). So I'm probably being a big scaredy cat. :-)

I’m seriously considering a return to the Q10 before the end of the year (before BlackBerry World dies) for this very reason.

It’s my favorite BB10 device. Compact, powerful, stylish, replaceable battery, easy to repair, and my second favorite keyboard (after the Bold 9900) of all the BlackBerry PKB devices I’ve tried (and I’ve also tried the Q5, Classic, Passport OG, Passport SE, PRIV, KEYone, KEY2 and KEY2 LE).

I don’t like how addicted I’ve become to my smartphone. I would hang onto an iPhone or Android as a backup and for the few things I do need that BB10 can’t do well (certain business apps, GPS nav, etc.). But my go-to phone only needs to calls, texts, email, and calendars and the Q10 still does that very well.

Amen, when I want/need down time I transfer over to my Passport. Great daily driver, but because the apps might open slower or other issues you tend not to keep picking it up.....

I agree with you. The Q10 is a great phone for this purpose. I did this about a year ago and I am contemplating returning to the Q10. It's a simple phone. I love how small it is as well fits into the pocket so easily.

I had the classic as well and I actually prefer the q10. It was a very underrated blackberry

I use my Q10 every day. It just gets the basic things done reliably in a compact device. Don't plan on stopping using it.

Absolutely they can. But if you see how popular things like the lite phone/lite phone 2 are among many minimalists, it just makes you wonder why they don't consider an option like this. Q10 is what $50? These lite phones cost like $200.

The BB10 infrastructure has been practically dismantled. The BB10 hardware can’t be manufactured since many of the components are now antiquated, so no longer produced. Since BB exited hardware three years ago, it has no incentive to return given the massive resources to be required. It’s simply not feasible.

I live around Opioid Central and opioid addiction with overdose reality is a real problem. BB10 wouldn’t stop a real social media addict. Like calling the original BBOS crack like addiction isn’t seriously the same. Even when people thought vibrations felt without phone turned on.

It’s like video gamers playing COD thinking experience is like actual war and claiming to suffer the similar effects.

HMD Global is selling a lot of feature phones... but that's probable more for the low cost hardware and monthly plans, than the desire to flee from social media addiction. That's clear in that they still support 2G networks with them.

Nokia 800 Tough will set you back $120... but it is MIL-STD-810G and it's battery last 43 day s in standby.

People can do that with existing devices either through previous mentions of not using the apps or just turning off data.

Not everyone is addicted regardless of definition.
