Hi I just updated to the 10.2 OS and lost the BBM voice call function on the phone. So now I can only make BBM video calls. Even the contacts on BBM video has shrunk since the upgrade. Can anyone help? I would appreciate.

Just through the software update function on settings menu. I believe it was the official way and not a leaked version. I have a version ending with. 424

Have you tried rebooting? Press and hold both volume rockers until device reboots and blue bb logo shows

Thanks guys will try and revert, need the bbm voice and video function to talk to wife when I travel for free. So really appreciate the help guys.

Ok tried the side volume bars to reboot, but same problem, when I click on the green video camera on bbm I go straight into bbm video. I used to get an option before of bbm video or bbm voice. Could this be a bug? Or is this working well on your 10.2 OS? Still need to try the sideload thing mentioned above ( I am a bot wary of doing that, I must admit) but will try it anyway. Pls let me know if bbm voice works on 10.2 on your phones.

I even tired to get someone else to bbm voice call me. It just says user is unavailable even though the video camera is green next to my name on their phone. Am still trying to do the sideload thing. Will keep u posted on how I get on.

I've been on about 4 of the 10.2 OSes and it's always worked for me. Your issue sounds very strange. Is this the type of thing that could be a carrier restriction? Who is your carrier?

I am in the UAE, carrier is DU. But the BBM video function works perfectly. Will try to reinstall and check

I have downloaded the OS from the link mentioned above into my PC, backed up my q10 (just in case) I went to update software it said I have the latest one. So how do I manually update software? Any help.

Ok finally tried the side loading function and still the BBM video works fine but no BBM voice. I did a reset to factory setting and then a BlackBerry restore. Pls help

Must be a carrier restriction. I've been on 10.2 versions since the 1st stable leaks (as have many thousands of others). You and your friend seem to be the only people with this problem. Perhaps your carrier sees the voice call feature as direct competition yet allows video because it is a feature they don't sell. The fact that video works proves your hardware and OS are capeable... but it seems as though you are denied access.

Thanks for that. Yes both me and my friend are on the same network in Dubai. Is there anyway we can circumvent this block? Would downloading the update from abroad help. These phones were bought offline with no contract subsidy. I.E not from service provider.

Try a voice call when both of you are on wifi only and cellular network turned off. If it works, it is a block on the carrier end.

The carrier may have changed their system and require a special BlackBerry setting on your account. Try calling them to see if they can solve the problem.
