I want to get a spare battery for my Q10, can anyone recommend any sites that offer the best bang for the buck? I'm in Canada if that affects things... shopblackberry.com is way more expensive than amazon, is shopblackberry's batteries higher quality? any tips / experiences you guys would like to share would be appreciated :)

It's still cheaper than buying from Shop BlackBerry, even if you get the charger bundle instead of just the bare battery. And it's very definitely an OEM battery.
Amazon should be good too, although there's a chance you might get something fishy from a reseller. Due diligence.

It comes with its charging device and you can either swap the batteries or connect the micro usb to charge the device with the external battery.
You can keep the battery charging in that bundle and always be on the go. I use that!

Battery bundle works great. Got mine in September 2014, still working flawlessly & everyone who sees it is always jealous, ahaha.
Check amazon, I recently checked Q10 batteries there, they cost around $12 for Canada & $6 for USA.
