I was going to say "groups and channels are usually to blame, the more active the group/channel, the more updates pushed and the higher the demand on the battery".

But you said you don't use it.

    Reboot the device maybe?

[WARN]Don't use the reboot from the OS. Hold the top buttom untill you see a red LED followed by the BlackBerry logo. Ignore on-screen prompts to reboot/turn off.[/WARN]

There is a known bug. Don't know if it's resolved in the last update, I didn't have it.

To see if this is it, can you open your Device Monitor, go to BBM, and share with us a screenshot of the Mobile and Wi-Fi usage for this app ?

I left all the groups and channels that I was subscribed to on BBM. Rebooted the device by pressing the top button and let the system restart on its own. Seems to have fixed it. Thanks for your help.

Keep rolling on the floor there. I don't use BBM. Back when there was major hype around the new channels and groups and BBM making a "come back" I joined some channels/groups -- only to never open them again.

I experienced the same issue 3 times in the past, quite randomly because I never use BBM either.

You can either make hard-reboot or switch off the data connection for a few minutes and then back on.

I guess BBM has some bug that leaves sometimes some internal process doing an endless loop, and you just need to cut the loop.
