Hello Crackberry Folks,
Here my problem and hopefully someone has a solution. I have a BB Q10 with a bad USB port. My phone has many apps on it and is set up perfectly. I purchased another Q10 and would like to duplicate everything from my old phone to new one. Is there any software that will let me do a total backup on the old and restore to the new? Keep in mind I cant use the Blackberry Link because the USB port is dead. Thank you in advance for your help.
Your apps are tied to your BBID, so if you have set that up correctly on the new phone, it will migrate it. As for other apps sideloaded, you have to unfortunately start fresh and sideload.
Full backup... no.
I used Backup Pro from Fire Chest which will allow you to save data to you SD Card or to a number of Cloud accounts... and it will save some of what you want. But not you'll still have to start over...
You can also use the BBW app called Device Switch. It will not transfer everything but it will:
1. transfer contact info including pictures and birthdays
2. transfer calendar info
3. transfer pictures and videos
4. prevent duplicate entries
All your BB apps will have to be re-installed but will be shown in BBW.
As Dunt says above a good backup app (I use Ultimate Backup) can also be used to create folders with data on an SD card or to Dropbox.
