Anyone experiencing a very hot device/battery? I am noticing it after heavy use, especially Skype.

I have noticed it, it becomes so hot, that when i left my finger on top of the micro usb port, it burnt my finger, not burnt as in damage, but it did sting a bit.

Hmm. Seems like something to watch. I seem to remember (although I haven't used one) that iPhone had a serious issue of that nature.

I started a thread on this earlier in the week as my Q10 too often runs really quite warm.

I've seen this once; I just rebooted. Must be some app.

That's why i mentioned Skype as a suspect. I'd like to know if others have seen that pattern or can link it to other specific apps/practice.

I've only noticed it during skype but hubby has said he has the same issue on his s4 as well - can only assume it has something to do with the app itself :s

Mine runs cooler than my Z10 did. It got warm when initially setting it up, or if I'm running an app for an extended period of time, but other than that it runs quite cool.

its a prob with many smart phones off late , extensive use gets ur batter warm / hot , it also depends on the make of your phone , most probs are with phones made in Mexico

Somehow , it's normal , I think. Z10 has familiar problem, but worse. They should manage to control the temperature, because this eat battery very quickly.

Turn on NFC in the settings (it's default set to on) and that will solve your problem. NFC makes the back of the phone very hot for whatever reason.

I think you meant "off" not "on". In fact, the first thing I did after booting it up the first time was to turn NFC off, so that was not my problem.

What does it being made in Mexico have to do with anything?

Also I'm just lurking here in the Q forums as I have a Z10, but my battery gets hot very often. But never on phone calls lasting an hour+

Look on the box it came in on the label with all the model/serial numbers, scavenge around and it will show it.

My first one was made in Canada, my second one is made in Mexico.
