So I decided I would put the Q10 through its paces after I got it upgraded to 10.1.0.1284

I have to say I am very impressed.

I pulled this off the charger around 5p on Wed and I've just hit 35% battery life remaining.

LTE & Wifi have been on the entire time, I've rebooted it probably 6 times, and all my incoming notifications are on vibrate.

I've made minimal phone calls on it, this is my work phone so I just use it mainly for work emails which never stop since I am in IT.

Hopefully the Z10 owners also see a bump in battery life when 10.1 hits!

Hope this answers some performance issues people might have!

    Oh, one more thing.

Since this is a test device I'm running it with the 1800mAh battery, not the 2100 that it will ship with.

    Cheers,
Great! I currently have the Z10 but I'm planning on getting the Q10 both for the battery and for the physical keyboard. I'm sure the Q10 is gonna be a badass device.

So reading this I guess it's safe to say you can avg 15hr day with 6-7hr screen time. That's still pretty decent. I will burn through the original battery in the first couple weeks of use. I always buy a replacement battery just in case.

I've been holding out on my Z10 purchase to see what the battery life would be on the Q10. If I could get 2-3 days between charges on a 2300 mAmp battery (moderate use), I'm going with the Q10. Thank god somebody is addressing this issue. This is my "must have" app.

Therefore I am guessing the 2100mAh battery will also fit the Z10.

It won't, they are different shapes unfortunately.

My biggest annoyance about 10.1 so far is the lack of ability to change the length of the vibrate, hopefully that changes.
    Too long? Too Short?

Long.. way too long. Same length as the Z10. I just want the same ability to change the length that I had on my 9100 and 9900.

I'm just whining, it's a nice feature to have, hopefully it will come in the future.

Remember that the talk time would likely be a screen off estimate. As when the phone is at your ear, the screen would be off.

Same here. Getting different vibration lengths and different vibration repeats, lets you immediately know what type message you've just gotten on your device. It's a real handy feature.

That feature is included in 10.1, you can adjust the number of vibrations based on the type of message, so we're almost there

Yah, being able to set the length of the vibrations would be nice. I have different combinations for every different kind of notification so it's easy to tell what came in. I hope they add that to the Q10 soon...

What have you been expexting? Like I already said in another thread: The Q10 battery has just a rough ~17% increase of capacity compared to the one used in the Z10. That of course is raw capacity. The hardware itself is the same, so you can't save energy due to different processors. The only following difference is obviously the screen, where the Q10 could show its strength.

As for the talk time, the display would be deactivated most of the time, it is impressive to see the Q10 got a ~35% improvement while just having ~17% higher battery capacity. Maybe there is an improvement hidden in 10.1?
The standby-time on the other hand side really is roughly 17% longer compared to the Z and almost shows a 1:1 improvement considering the higher capacity.

You can't simply expect 50% or even double the battery life from just a rather small 300mAH increase. If the Q10 would offer a >2600mAH, we might could talk about such numbers, or at least think about it. But with just such a small increase of capacity, you just can't expect any miracles in raw data.
