Has anyone found out how to keep the Q10s battery life back to the normal use after the OS upgrade to 10.2.1? I did an upgrade when my provider released it and now battery life wears out 4 hrs faster. I used to charge phone anywhere between 10-11pm and it would last a full 24 hrs. Now I am getting on 20 hrs. Not a bad thing but still causing a few issues. Any help would be great. Thanks

This is curious to me how some people do have battery lifetime troubles after updating and others don't. Now I wonder what does it depend on?

In my case, battery life improved right after the update without any issues, sparing me the need to pull out the battery... Obviously I am happy about that, but what is the trick?

Finding out post-mortem is probably hard to do. If you are planning to upgrade the OS, you may want to check what processes are running when you use you device in a typical way. Note down the processes and details and then do the upgrade. After the upgrade, check processes again and diff the list against the list you took before.

This might give you an idea if the battery usage could be tied to the number of processes or its utilization footprint.

Thanks for your help. I have task manager to make sure nothing is running in the background. I suspect it's the use of android apps I've loaded directly to the phone- I don't sideload apps. Thanks for your help. I am curious though- how does doing a battery pull help battery life?

Right after an upgrade, the phone is syncing your mails, contacts and is basically just setting in. Hence, it's quite normal to see a drop of battery life for a few days.

Apps do tend to suck battery life, especially those which requires constant data connection. Check to see which apps are doing this by using Task Manager (which you are already doing).

My phone lasts me for bout a day and a half, but I charge my phone every night out of habit.
