I know the original release showed the Q10 would be 2100 mAh but with the recent leaks of the phone showed the battery at 1800 mAh. I just thought it was due to being a pre-production model, however, the recent posting on the CrackBerry store may confirm that is going to be 1800 mAh. Check the link:

    BlackBerry N-X1 1800mAh Standard Battery (ACC-53785-101) for Q10 | BlackBerry Batteries | CrackBerry Canada

Clearly shows that the standard battery is going to be 1800 mAh.

That is pretty interesting. I hope a blackberry elite who is not bound by NDA could clarify what is up with the different specs.

    No.

The original (testing) batteries for the Q10 were 1800. The official (launching) battery is 2100.

The listing will need to be adjusted.

Edit: Now fixed, thanks for letting us know!

Well they obviously used 1800 mAh N-X1 batteries for the Dev Alpha C. But the final version will be 2100 mAh. They have emphasized this several times with "The BlackBerry Q10 has the largest battery of any BlackBerry smartphone, ever." They probably won't go against that.

i was kind of nervous after reading the OP before Adam's correction. the reasons im getting the Q10 over the Z10 is the battery and the keyboard.

Only first test phones came with 1800 mAh, which was soon replaced with originally planned 2100 mAh.

From the pics we have seen, they were not replaced that quickly.

So far we have seen 1800mah, 1800mah with the rubber padding and eventually 2100mah which seems to indicate at least two revisions of hardware and that the 2100mah battery came after that.

No hardware revision as far as I know, 1800 mAh on test phones was replaced within a couple of week. Final capacity is 2100 mAh!!

There are always hardware revisions during the development of a mobile phone as things like antenna performance are not going to be finalised by the time the earliest alpha and beta hardware is needed for internal development and testing. Depending on how the terminology varies from company to company you'd expect 3 or 4 distinct revisions to cover alpha, beta, feature complete and final hardware with the latter two possibly merging with some companies.

In any case the fact that some devices came with 1800mah with no foam padding and then others came with that foam padding prior to being replaced by the 2100mah battery that proves that they had to make the device slightly thicker to make room for the larger battery during those revisions.

This was debated some around the launch of the 9900 as well. I for one, would have preferred a slightly thicker device if it could have consistently gotten me through the day (and a decent camera, for that matter). The Q10 is shaping up to be a really great device, I hope it lives up to the hype. I'm really excited!
