I took my Q10 for a swim a few weeks ago and thought it was dead. Wouldn't turn on for weeks and replaced it with a Z10
Lo and behold I plugged it in yesterday and it came to life. Seems fine, except now the battery drains at about 6% an hour, even in airplane mode.
I don't know anyone else with a Q10, so I don't know how to test if its the battery or the phone. I re-installed the OS,
so I know its not that. I could just buy a new battery and see, but don't want to sink any more money into the already expensive process of getting the new Z10.
The battery water strip stayed white, while the casing strip turned red.
    Any guesses/suggestions?

No, was on holiday when I did it so it air dried. No rice at hand. It was unresponsive for so long I really thought it was permanently dead. Now suddenly it works, other than the battery issue. No other signs of damage.

Possibly the battery? Try a different battery and see if it fixes it?

The best thing to do is find someone who can dismantle it or do it yourself if you are comfortable with that and clean it up with 99% isopropyl alcohol. Try to scrub the boards contacts and blow off the alcohol with air. I have cleaned a few successfully doing this and other electronics.

What kind of water? Big difference if it was a high salt content water.

Chlorinated pool water (forgot it was in my pocket).
Would that require an alcohol cleaning? (as opposed to, say, lake water which would have dirt in it).

When the water dries it can leave a deposit. You need to clean that off
I had one phone that wouldn't turn on and after cleaning it worked fine. Maybe try the new battery first but if that fails try to clean it up
