Can someone please tell me whether the new OS 10.3 update will include audio boost for BB10 devices?

I am an avid music listener and recently bought a pair of headphones and it's really frustrating that I can't use it to it's full capacity. The sound quality of previous BlackBerry OS versions that included audio boost was perfect and I really don't understand why they took it away. I think that this is the one MAJOR flaw of the BB10 OS

Uh, they never took it away. It's on all BB10 devices.

Settings>Main Volume.

It's not on mine.. I've checked other BB10 devices including the Passport and it's nowhere to be found.. I've also done some research on the net and found that many others also complain of the same problem.. I don't know if it's got to do with the country where I'm from maybe (South Africa).

Is there any way that I can resolve this problem? .. perhaps through a bugfix or something (just throwing ideas here) ..because I can't find any music player or app that can provide the same audio quality as with the audio boost option

Must be. I have it on all my devices. Load a leaked OS, bet it appears then.

There is no Audio Boost option in the last official OS (Q10SQN100-3/10.2.1.3442 here).

OP, be aware that Q10 users reported a low volume with leaks. Better to use new and better headphones if you are a Music addict

I'm currently using the Skullcandy Titans (in-earphones) and recently bought the Skullcandy Hesh 2.0 (headphones). I've also tried other headphones such as the Beats and Skullcandy Crusher headphones but they all push out the same max volume- which gives me an indication that the only way to increase the volume is to increase the amplification of the blackberry device (this is what the audio boost function does).

How sure are you guys that leaked OS will include the audio boost option? I'm a bit cautious of installing a leaked OS on my phone..

I too have the 'unsafe volume level' warning. It's so stupid that they took away the audi boost and equilizer from the music player. Yes, have all the warnings but at least give us the option to activate it or not. Isn't the whole point of creating new phones to improve from previous versions? It's just stupid and frustrating..

That said, if max out, sound or music are freaking loud on the Q10 ! Even with simple earphones (no earbuds) in urban territory with cars, trucks and horns. I understand why there is an "Unsafe warning" as it can be really painful...
Note that I'm on a Q10SQN100-3/10.2.1.3442. Several users reported that leaks had a volume limit under the official OS release.

same here, and I'm on Sprint's official 10.2.1.3023 though I did install it first as a leak before the official version came out. Not sure if that matters or not. I don't usually listen to music on my BB, but I do think that the volume is low on calls ad podcasts.

It is the same! Don't compare 2 different Blackberrys and say the sound coming from it is different!
If you have the audio boost option under settings, there won't be any unsafe level notification popping up, when increasing the volume. If you get the notification while increasing the volume, then the audio boost option won't be in the settings

If I'm remember correctly BBRY killed audio boost option in one of OSes and all of us who used autoloader to load this OS don't have it anymore. Those who used non destructive upgrades still have this option.
