Have some friends using Nexus 5 and i would not suggest anyone to buy the Nexus .
    Battery performance sucks .
    Hello,

    I'm on the fence about a Nexus 5 or a Blackberry Q10.

The expandable memory, removable battery and the physical keyboard are the only reasons why I would be getting a BBQ10.

Is only getting a BB for the physical keyboard a good enough reason to buy one? Or should I just suck it up and get a software keyboard?

    Thanks

    yup
for a communications device you can't get better
to turn your device sideways to type with ease is a waste of time
i can one hand type on any keyboard blackberry

reminds me of how simple voice communicating on an old motorola star-tac used to be before email

I use my Q10 mainly because of its super excellent keyboard. Otherwise I would be using my Z30 or ip5.

Don't you wish the keyboard was a bit softer though?

that doesn't make any sense to me. when I had an android I had to buy so many apps just to get the phone working productively - this included a $15 email app and several keyboards and file managers and battery saving apps and text messaging apps. when I switched to a z10 and now a z30, I didn't need any of those. booted up, added my accounts and that was it. I was amazed that I really didn't need to go out and find other apps because all that was already integrated into the OS.
That's why I said iPhone and not Android. There are no file managers for iOS atleast not local file system and the mail client is great. ios has all of the custom ring tones and notifications down. They also have a time dnd and dnd white list. Ios problem is the battery it's just ok.

If you want to roll your own phone get an android if you want a phone that works out of the box get ios. If you want a physical keyboard and great battery get BlackBerry.

    YES! Also the pocketable size.

Even the minimal swiping around needed on the Q wears me out, I often have dirty greasy hands, or gloves on, and I can't wait for the classic.

A few times I have answered and hung up the phone with my nose.

    This right here!^^^

Had them all (phones), and right back to the Q10. At the end of the day, it's all about communication and the Q10 does it best for my needs.

The web surfing, video watching, etc can wait until I get home....in which case I'll use the tablet and/or laptop with my Q10 close by.

initial it is what drew me to the Q10, but i watched at least a dozen walkthrough/unboxing/general opinion videos on the Q10, before i went to my local retailer and got the physical feel for it (i inevitably bought it online simfree, as it was cheaper). but it was after all the research that i bought the phone, and i only have it a short time (1 month) but i can easily say it out performs any other phone i had previously.

glad i made the switch to BB

Not so clicky. I mean the bold 9900 has a softer keyboard.

I got a Z10 first, then got a Q10 because I wanted to see what the fuss was about with keyboards, since I went straight from a feature phone to the 9850. (I did the T-Mobile trade-in, 9850 + $134 for a refurb Q10.) The Q10 is my daily driver, with the Z10 for a backup. The keyboard just makes it so easy to type really long text entries.
It took a bit of time for the issue to develop; when it was new, no problems.

If you check around the forums a bit, you'll notice quite a few Q10s seem to have an issue that after some use, they keyboards develop problems.

It's a shame, because if it weren't for that potential weakness, the Q10 would be a nearly-perfect phone!

Hopefully yours won't develop this annoying problem.

I suspect not all Q10 keyboards are created equally. Mine was super soft and quiet, but it developed the "double type" issue.

Others have reported their keys stiffer and louder. I wonder if there's a correlation between these two keyboard types and their failure rates ...

P.S., You haven't developed the "double type" issue have you?

I've notied it now and again. But I thought it was me. My keyboard is a bit noisey and clicky.

I bought it for a combination of things (form factor, battery life, productivity), but the keyboard was certainly high on the list.

I had the Z30, and found it a bit big for day to day use and have since switched to the Q10. Loving the move so far and one day hope to repurchase a Z30 to pair up with this bad boy!
