I've used the z10, q10 and now am using the z30.

I switched from the z10 to the q10 because I couldn't type on it.

Loved the q10 and the only problem was that my kids couldn't use it (keeping them busy at a restaurant, etc).

So I switched to the z30 and I love it. I have no problem typing on this one and everything else is great on it.

My boss has a iPhone and sometimes she will have me download apps or send a long text to her daughter. I can't type on it to save my life.

Why not just keep an extra phone ready for kids to use? These days I wouldnt allow kids to touch my main phone

A physical keyboard is a must for me, and I love the blackberry keyboard, so it was between the Q5 and the Q10, picked the Q10 due to hdmi output, very glad I did, but disappointed in one of the ways the Q10 does its hdmi out, oh well.

What do you mean by the way it outputs?

When you use HDMI out and play videos e.g. YouTube or a downloaded movie does it play 1:1 or does it go 16:9 on the TV?

It does 1:1, I've read the built in video app can do 16:9 but who uses that? I watch tv/movies on my Q10 with my carriers TV app or netflix or stream in the web browser.

The way around it is to use the zoom feature of the TV, an amazing BB10 feature would be a 16:9 I could move around and resize. It would be awesome on the Z10 too so you could essentially zoom in on things with it.

I tried this on my TV using my wife's q10 and an hdmi cord. It does 1:1 when it plays movies but when you press Playon it fills the whole screen. I tried it with YouTube, home video movies recorded on the q10 and movies streamed from the Internet. It worked great.

I forgot about the flashing LED, that is absolutely critical!!! If BB got rid of the LED and keyboard I would highly consider android.

If one day somebody makes my dream come true and prevents phone calls from turning my screen on, then I can leave my phone face up at all times and still know what is going on while nobody else does thanks to that little LED

I am a palm user (From palm PDA, Palm phone centro, Palm Pre, Pre 2, Pre 3, ...). Using a physical keyboard is a must to me.
As you may know, I may not be able to use my Pre 2 so soon. So I bought a Q5 to learn the BB10 OS.
I love not only the keyboard but also the BB10 system. Even though I have a google phone, I dare not to put my personal information, contacts on it because android system is not secure. BB10 can gain my trust.
When I am familiar my Q5, I will surely buy a Q10 to use.

Keyboard all the way Baby! Had my Q since day 1 launch with T-Mobile, nary a single issue with it. Looking forward to the next keyboard phone from BlackBerry!

The only reason I am using the Q10 is the hardware keyboard. If Symbian didn't die out or current Nokias had one, I would use them. I've used Nokia only in the past 10 years. If I end up selling the Q10, I'll mosty likely get a Windows Phone Nokia.

I had a Z10 from the day of release in the UK. About two months ago my wife got a curve as a work phone. As soon as I got my thumbs back on a physical keyboard, I knew I had to have a Q10. Within two weeks I'd found one on ebay. I just love it.
Last weekend I left my Q10 at work, I thought no drama I'll use the Z10 until Monday. I can't type on the Z10 keyboard. I don't like the lack of feel to touch screen typing and looking at the productive text and flicking them up seems to slow me down. I was glad to be reunited with my Q10 this Monday morning. Lol
My next BlackBerry will have a physical keyboard to.

Wow. I thought all of the Q10 double issue posts had dissuaded you from this decision. I have had my Q10 for a week and I love it. The OS and the keyboard plus the shortcuts have been a joy. The screen size was not as big of a deal since I moved from the Z10. Enjoy your Q10!
