Hi,

I am just wondering if there's anything that I can do to make sure that my bbm contacts cannot download and save the pics I use for my bbm profile. It is quite annoying when you pay for something (e.g avatars etc) and it ends up on your contact's profile as well.

Any thoughts please let me know.

Really? You don't want to share your pics? I'm not judging, I've just never heard anybody say that before. But to answer your question, no.

Maybe you shouldn't use them and lock them up in an encrypted file? Or set your BBM profile message to say "Please don't copy or use my profile picture"? Idk

Yes you can,,you choose remove display picture nobody will be able to take your dp hahaha

I just don't think there are anything you can do about it other than really not to use one.

If one is really that keen to save your dp, there are many ways to do so. Even if BlackBerry took away the ability to save images, people can always take a screenshot. They can stop the screenshot feature while showing dp, but the other could always use another device to capture that image. So the only way really is to just not use one.

Not to mention that sometimes dp can be a way to spread messages, like BBMforAll, TeamBlackBerry, BlackBerry Elite, etc, so being able to use the same dp others are using could be good too. So I really don't see them taking that feature away.

Nope, can't do it.. even if you were able to stop people from downloading, you wouldn't be able to stop any third party apps from taking a screen shot of the picture.

Just don't post anything online unless you want others to see them!
