My Q10 has random reboot often n having BlackBerry error on Battery weak. Sometimes take out fr pants n put on the table, it will reboot. While on the Phone, suddenly reboot. I am with 10.2.1. It drains my power consumption. I hardly can use more than 10 hrs including standby time. With about 10-20min browsing, BBM, Whatsapp not many. Sometimes 10 min Youtube. Less than 10 email per day. No game. About 1 hour on Crackberry forum. Data on all the time. Only 3G at my area. Brightness auto.

Any Recommendations for Battery? Go for Original 2100mAh or I heard there is 2800mAh OEM battery. I don't like to carry external battery with me.

    Pls advice!

    Thanks.

There is already a lot of recommendations on this forum and I advise you to take a look.

Now, to help you furthermore, we need at least screenshots from your Device Monitor :

    - battery obviously, not only the graph but also what's under it, with the Since Last Charge selected, and preferably, when you are near to recharge it.
    - CPU tab with the Current state selected, when you see your battery drained more than usual.

In your next post, tap the letters "myver" to give us your phone version.

It sounds like your Q10's battery is having a loose connection. Try inserting a piece of folded paper between your Q10's battery and the battery door and see how it goes.

Or better, to avoid loosing the NFC connection, place your paper or piece of plastic at the bottom of the battery (opposite to the gold connector of course)

Seen this first screenshot, I can already advise you to not use your phone while charging, and to wait for the battery to be depleted before charging it to full.

    Waited for the next ones

Just type it in your next post or edit the one above. Don't type the quotes. It's a word substitute. Mine give : Q10SQN100-3/10.2.1.3247

I guess you forge it manually ? You type your software version instead of the update one. No worry, you have the last official 10.2.1 version though. Good to know.

So, on your next full charge followed by a full drained, don't forget to take the screenshots we need in Device Monitor

    - CPU tab with the Current State selected, when you see your battery drained more than usual.
And try to put a plastic piece or a paper between the bottom battery and the extruded casing where the battery lodged itself (or between the battery and the back cover) to block it in place.

Not good at all. 18h to 19h is more the interval of a good battery life for the Q10.
As for OP, can you give us a screenshot of what's under this graph and one of the CPU tab with "Current" checked.

    Here you go
    Thanks, it's a long list !
First, reset the battery estimated time : just power off your phone, pull the battery out, connect the official charger and push the power on button. Then, disconnect the charger, put the battery back and power on the phone.
Let it charge to 100% overnight. And then, don't charge your battery in small increment and avoid using your phone during charging. Do full cycle (0 -> 100% and 100% to 0%).

Now, Display and System are ok. I advise you to check apps with the "Connect to BBM" permission under Settings > Security and Privacy > Application Permissions. If not needed for an app, uncheck this permission.

Did you have a lot of notifications with Twittly ? I don't have it (yet... Beautiful app by the way ) I think a look on this app settings can worth it.

Viber and WhatsApp are not so high, but the data sample you posted are on a too short interval to tell (as you loose ~50% in 3 hours).

So the next big thing to check is your network signal. Do you move a lot ? Do you have a weak signal ? Do you use often a 4G network ? Can you check periodically your connection ? As others stated, it can be very valuable to set you network accordingly to your context. Under Settings > Network and Connections > Mobile Network > Network Mode :
If underground and/or you're ok with it, set your network to 2G. Otherwise, 3G if available. Avoid 4G if you can, but do not hesitate to use Wi-Fi. If no Wi-Fi is available, switch it off to avoid a constant research of a network.

Again the sample here is to short, but if you can, avoid Android apps that run in the background (headless). Localisation seems ok too. Check the apps permission.

When do you reload your OS for the last time ? Don't forget it takes up to 2 days for the device to settle. Last but not least, favor a SD card over the internal memory for your Media files.

I've already post these advises, but here we go :
There are several overheating and/or battery draining issues :
    • weak signal
    • 4G (LTE)
    • faulty battery
    • Android apps (Skype, games, ...)
    • continuous usage of the phone for hours
    • GPS, NFC, DATA, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, ...
    • accounts sync (with the contacts list as first culprit)
    • after a fresh reload (See Accounts sync)
    • after setting the encryption to On
    • Device full
    • ...

    So :
    • never charge your battery in small increment
    • never use your phone during charging
    • don't let your phone in direct sunlight too long
    • use imap instead of pop for your emails
    • check your accounts sync settings
    • customize your notifications
    • avoid vibration mode
    • enable bedside mode at night
    • avoid Android apps
    • close unused active frames
    • check your headless app in Permission settings
    • adjust your screen brightness
    • lock your screen when not use or buy a leather pouch/holster
    • customize your screen lock timeout
    • stop the thing you don't always need : GPS, NFC, etc... try 2G for a while
    • stock your media on a SD card
    • restart the phone and/or take off the battery for a while
Still incomplete, but the main things are there.

You will have to contact or search the website of your email provider to switch from a POP server to an IMAP one. This last protocol is way better for a mobile device, and you can sync only the folders you need.

Pretty good estimated time by the way. High in the morning on the PIM Services though. New phone, recent OS reload or new email account added ?

You can enable IMAP for your Gmail account in the web interface of Gmail : Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > IMAP Access > Enable IMAP
Change the other settings according to your need.

Check the settings of your apps to find a "Clear Cache" function.
For apps from BlackBerry World, if you want to stop them running in the background, just change the corresponding permission accordingly, and restart your phone after that.
For Android apps, well, you cannot select permissions yet. You will have to install an Android Task Manager to manually kill this headless app. Not a very good solution for now.

As you can guess, it's not a terrific result... at all. 8h of estimated time for a full cycle is terrible. With a medium to high usage, mine is alive for 19h (2 days on light usage).

Check the advices on this thread, and start by resetting your battery estimated time. I must add that even with the new 10.3.1 update ahead of us and its new settings to save battery life, these advices are always Ok

My Q10 had random reboot issues, I tried tightening the battery with a paper shim, it didn't make a difference. I used to set it on the table and that action would cause a reboot. I did a warranty replacement of the phone and all is well. You have a hardware issue sadly, no amount of software tweaks is going to fix that. You need a new phone.

There is multiple issues here. Reboot can also be software. But, when the trigger is an impact, we know that it's at least hardware. This last problem is identified and a thick piece of paper (a plastic one is better as it doesn't change with time) between the bottom of the battery and the extruded casing is the way to fix this. The goal is to block the battery in place, avoid connectors on both side to move, and allow no shortage of electrical power for the phone.
Now, OP told us about his battery draining, and you can bet that this issue is software

I tried to put a piece of paper under the battery and surprisingly the random reboot problem didn't occur for the whole day. And the battery seems to be good. I mean for me 18hrs for me since 7am-1am now n still have 18% is very good.
    Thks for the advice!
