I've had mine since Jan 2014 and yes, I'm experiencing typing issues.
But personally I think I have to blame myself. This phone has been falling hard for the past year. I use an Otter box but, of course, it doesn't protect screen and keyboard.
I think that the phone per se doesn't have any issue concerning the keyboard, but you gotta be treat it gentle. I'm a little rough with it

I've sended it in (warranty) due to 'double typing'. They checked it and said: 'we couldn't find any problems'. The interesting comes now: although officially nothing has been repaired and changed the chassis of my Q10 is a new one and my keyboard feels different (when I've sended it in it had plenty of scratches...) ....well I'm happy that I don't have the issue any more :-D

That sounds likely. I've been through 2 Q10's and after about 5 months they both had the same problems.
Man I wish Sprint offered the Z10. I'd grab it in a heartbeat!

I've had a Q10 for a little over two years and I'm on my fourth keyboard. I need another one because this one is double typing too. Vvery disappointed with the Q10's build quality.

Almost two years with the Q10, no double typing issues to report. Check out Amazon for good deals on the Q10, got mine for $0.01 plus tax with a two year contract with Sprint.

Well that's really odd. Considering that it's usually the opposite that happens.

I sometimes wonder if my double-typing issues might be caused by the way I press the keys. I don't know about the rest of you folks, but I actually hold my Q10 in my left hand, and type with my right index finger.
More deliberate and gives me time to compose what I wish to say. But that's only me!

I don't know about that. I have the Sprint Q10SQN100-4/10.3.1.2576.

I think it might be version related.

There are only 62 posts because most of us Q10 users are out there getting work done :-).

My Q10 has gone through 26 months as my one and only phone with absolutely no double typing.

The only double typing here ( 2yrs of service) here is when my mind forgets what I was typing and adds the word twice. The phone works well and there is a supplier in Michigan who will send out a brand new keyboard for $5 through eBay, so if you do have any concerns allow Murphy's Law to work in your favor, buy the keyboard, stick it in a drawer and enjoy typing. Have a great weekend , I hope we all have nothing bigger in life to worry about than $5 parts that may perhaps someday cause issue. Best regards.

Have experienced a couple stretches of double-typing, usually in the warmer weather. It was showing up again at 28 months, up until the latest OS update.

My daughter's newer SQN100-3 Q10 was also exhibiting the problem.

Now, no double-typing at all. Ever. For either Q10. Though related to a hardware inconsistency, I did speculate early on that it should be possible to solve most cases of double-typing through software algorithm improvements, and it looks like BlackBerry has done exactly that. Good on them.

The keyboard on mine recently failed after about 6 months, with most of the last month putting up with some awful annoyances. It started with the S key being extra sensitive and doubletyping, eventually getting sticky and not typing at all no matter how hard I pressed. This stickyness spread to the ALT and Z keys as well, so by that point I'd had enough and I ordered a new KB from amazon that included the tools needed to swap it.

Disappointing to say the least, but at least the new keyboard is working great and the disassembly wasn't too much trouble. It might work in a lot of situations, but the sticky tape method for holding the switch domes in place is bad engineering in my opinion. Maybe its the hot climate here causing the adhesive to liquify, but still something that should've been considered when in R&D. Never had a problem like this with any of the 4 Nokia keyboard-phones I had.

Back then I would experience a character or two having this issue. But not often, I would think I might have pressed the key/keys too hard or too long. But as time went on, and perhaps with the OS updates, I don't think I've encountered the problem anymore. BTW, I've been having my Q10 for a year now.
