Honestly I don't even know what bar that actually is because I've had mine turned off since I got my phone as I didn't know what it was and nothings changed. I'm assuming its the bar underneath the text one but I haven't a clue.

That setting is only for full screen devices. It hides the action bar when the on-screen keyboard appears. Since the Q10 does not do that, the bar does not hide either.

What you mean (I think) is the behaviour in some apps where the bottom bar hides while scrolling. I do not think BBM has ever done that, mostly only third party apps do that.

Once again, we are talking about the same bar, with all the options:
Action bar from BBM not removing even after turning it off-random-1-.png
It can not be removed/hidden on the Q10, that setting is only for full-screen devices.

We're talking about this for anyone that didn't know. But I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you. Are you on latest OS?

Have you all put me on your ignore list or something, I mean how much more clear could I have been?

Fact 1: this thread was made in the Q10 part of the forums, so obviously OP has one of those.

Fact 2: that setting in BBM everyone refers to, for hiding the action bar, is only triggered when a digital keyboard pops up. That mean it will never, ever, change anything for a Q10/Q5.

Fact 2' (just to make it even more clear):
The setting in BBM that hides the action bar when the keyboard pops up is only for Z-series devices and Android/iOS. N/A for any Q-device.

That feature is more needed in the small screen Q devices BlackBerry should make a note of this.

I even tweeted them but no response.

So the setting should no be there for Qs if that's the case.

Yeah, it should not be there, that is right. But it was probably easier to leave it in, than to create a separate BBM-installer just for the Q-series.

Or they could maybe (and I would prefer this) change it so that it hides the action bar when scrolling on physical keyboard devices. Like a lot of third party apps do.

That said, someone mentioned the screen real estate on Q-devices being so small they need this option. But most likely the problem is worse with digital keyboards on the Z10/Android/iOS, where the keyboard takes up a very large portion of the screen.
