I've been viewing some threads on this website on how Blackberry devices are 'lacking' in the smartphone industry , my question is what's going to happen to the company in the future? So many of my friends are getting rid of their Blackberries while I'm going to buy myself a Q10 , I'm trying my best to stay loyal to the company but would it be worth it?

I think that with the eventual (sooner rather later hopefully) release of 10.2 we will see some big name apps coming our way. Skype is obviously waiting for the headless apps to release a feature full version among others.

With BlackBerry's cash I would imagine them throwing some of that as "goodwill" to major app developers to create BB10 native apps.

Hey Majestic Banjo. There are basically 3 scenarios that can happen to BB
1) Goes Private
2) Gets a Partner
3)Gets bought and sold for pieces.

Only option 3 has any negative side effects. Option 1+2 are great as that means BB is still around and "Alive" and kicking with updates and new products etc.. Also keep in mind that the fastest anything could happen would be 4 months but in reality its 6months for sure if a deal is made today.

Tell your friends to grow a pair.. and stop being lemming's and running off to Droid/Apple.

Trust me after you use your new BlackBerry for a day or two, your gonna download the CB10 app and the Berry_leaks team is gonna be your best friends. And the fun starts.

this has been going on for a year at least, just now the media has a hold on it more. I hope they partner up or go private to be honest. It would be cool if a big IT company like dell/lenovo partnered up and started making phones/tablet for BB10 with amazing hardware since they have more access to it.

But anyways Q10 is an amazing phone. If you get it I would advise you to download 10.2.0.1047 autoloader, 10.1 is completely unfinished and featureless to me. Learn how to sideload using the "Debug Token" method and any 4.2.2 or lower android app will work on your phone flawlessly and sometimes even better then on android phones. Within the next month 10.2 will be in full effect.

After a few days you'll understand why we all rave about it. You'll also start to wonder why so many people are down on BlackBerry. To write off BlackBerry is to follow the sheep... I can't believe the BS that is being flung about about BlackBerry and the 10s.

Just do it.
