I just put mine in the phone, and formatted it on the phone and lost very minimal , to transfer from your computer just turn on the USB mass storage and drag your files over.

Formatting as a rule takes about seven per cent of the total space. It doesn't matter whether it's done by a computer or phone, the ratio is the same. For a 64 GB card you'll have just over 59 GB of available space.

The speed of the card is quite good, and you're able to set it as the default location for all of your pictures through the settings on the camera app.

    I'm using a SanDisk 64 GB Ultra Class 10.

I did format it using the phone before saving anything to it. Go to Settings> Storage and Access>Scroll all the way down>Select Format Media Card.

As mentioned no matter what, you'll never get the advertised storage due to system files...

The same is true with PCs, external hard drives...

As for using a 64 GB card, the phone works perfectly fine.

I was thinking about buying a 64gb micro sd card and was wondering if a Micro SD SDXC would work in the Q10.

Not sure what the dealis but I'm having NONE of the issues u are explaining on here! Confused!

There's always going to be a slight reduction of capacity and this is true with all micro SD cards!

Added the 64g card to my Q10 and formatted with 59g to use. Files can be swapped back and forth using the computer, no issues at all. I do find that the better the card quality is, the less chance of issues

Formatting doesn't take the ~7% capacity. Only a few KB are used in the format table. The loss is from the card being advertised in 64GB binary and the phone/tablet/PC using base-10 to display capacity. The "loss" happens long before the packaging on the media card is opened. All 64 billion bytes (binary) are there whether or not the card is formatted.

Yes, I have used the SanDisk 64GB & 128GB microsd cards in my q10. I did have to format the cards to FAT before inserting them into the q10.
