And the reason why? Shutting off when the phone experienced even a SLIGHT shock to the body such as putting it down.

After the third replacement, I reached the real tech support team and then a tech support guy that is a BB Specialist. I explained to him that this exact same thing is happening to my replacement Q10's, reloading the software WON'T work and I believe this is hardware issue exacerbated by the fact that I leave my Q10 in my back pocket and sit on it. He said, yes -- it IS a known issue (level 1 support is not aware) and it IS a hardware issue and that the Q10 is the only new BB10 device that has an alternate exchange program. He was frank enough to say that if you exchange it again the same exact thing will happen. Which made me think wow, I really won't waste my time with BB then. I was calling to get that exchange to another phone though regardless as it was offered to me by the last rep that gave me my latest Q10 but obviously, I declined.

I'm on Jump! so even tho my exchange device isn't great (New Lumia 925) I can upgrade in 2 months.

BB seriously let me down. The Q10 could have been their best offering if it wasn't so poorly built and cheaply designed (relative to the retail price!). The OS is rocksolid. I actually love it which is the reason why I said let me try it again once more. I loved having flash, the full keyboard and the great call quality.

My Q10 has worked flawlessly. No problems after 5 months. Best phone I have used. Sorry to hear about your problem.

Same, got the phone on release date from t-mobile, and it has been worth every penny. Did you get a blackberry that is being made from mexico or canada? Maybe there may be a difference in the device you are receiving based on state? Sucks for you but best of luck buddy.
