It seems that many of us here would have the same question and I'm hoping that some of the more knowledgeable posters can help. Many of us installed the 1925 leak, and seemed very happy. It's been stable and has may feature upgrades. Now Verizon is offering 2122. Should we upgrade? On the one hand i'd think that we'd prefer to use the Verizon version. Only because that's the version that they support and tailored to run on their network. On the other hand, I've learned with tech stuff that leave well enough alone. If things are running well there has to be a reason to make change. Are there other benefits to the 2122 Version? Does anyone have info that can help those of us that have this same question?

Like you say, the Verizon upgrade is probably tailored to their network but really its just improvements and tweaked files over what you have. The choice remains yours. If you were brave enough (or fed up enough) to load a leak, I say screw VZW. I haven't used an official OS from them since OS5 on my 8330. Everything else has been hybrids and leaks.

If your phone is running fine, then don't bother. If you feel the battery could be better or there is an improvement for you, then upgrade. I believe the Android runtime is also upgraded each time so that might be a reason right there, if you run android apps on your phone.

Good luck whatever you choose to do.

I do run Android apps and have had trouble with some of them. Battery life is ok but not great. On a moderate usage day I can make it to the end of the day. On a heavy usage day I need to swap out to another battery by mid to late afternoon. When I'm on the road for the day I always make sure to have two fully charged batteries.

Personal recommendation - I just reverted back to 1925 after trying 2122. Unless you can use the wifi calling then everything is better on 1925. Battery life considerably better, the phone is much smoother and I found no real changes or features. I have a Z10 STL 100 however so I am not sure about the rest.

I did the over air update from 1925 went perfect. Installed and didn't loose anything. Only issue I had was bbm contacts were separated out from themselves. I had to go through and link bob with bbm bob. Any android apps stayed.

No reason not to upgrade. I have both the Q and Z on 2234. Worried about ATT and VZW official support? Real support is right here at CB.

I agree! I find that when o talk to tech support they know less than I do. The posters here are the best! That said though, shouldn't there need to be a reason to update? If all is well, and there are no benefits to the newer version why do it?

My major finding from 1925 to 2228 is the improved android support. Two apps that wouldn't run previously now run perfectly. I even managed to get my Sonos Android app to upgrade in-app to a beta I'd signed up for.

I'd go to 2234/2235 OS/radio which just leaked yesterday. You can even use Sachesi to update the files and not have to wipe or use the autoloader (which is also supplied in the thread). Like Adamlau. I loaded the 2228 version last week and then the newest 2234 yesterday and it is absolutely smoother and faster and the battery seems to be the best yet. I have a Q10 and the android files seem to work better as well. On the first page of Toobs Leak it lists the autoloaders and further in the post it lists the country codes for using Sachesi for the non-destructive update. Safest way to go and worth the time. Good luck!

Why not just do 2122 thru Verizon, either OTA or Link? Atleast I have their version then

With every new OS whether leaked or official there are improvements over the previous OS. So the newest is the best to date. This doesn't always apply to every file in the OS like for instance radios, but regardless of who puts out the OS-a carrier or a leak team, if the radio is bad its bad so you would get another one anyway. Typically the android runtimes are better and the newer OS fixes the bugs. That's the only reason. Remember that leaks are eventually turned into "official" OS updates like you have from Verizon--just months of not years late. Always go with a leak!

I don't have a leak of 1925. I have that version because that's what Verizon released in January. Now I get an update notification about 2122. Is it THAT much better?

What country code did you use to get the leaks for a Q10 Vzw phone.

I just updated to 10.2.1.2102 from 1925 on my Q10. I haven't discovered much changes except my Voice Control problem has been fixed. It broke when I installed 1925.
