I am having serious phone and screen apps freezing after the upgrade to 10.2. Can I change back to 10.1 until the bugs are fixed? Thanks!

First, is it a leak? Second, do a search. You can go back easily.

It's my phone-I make a call, then can't hang up, screen enlarges then freezes and can't close it. Have to reboot everytime. Was not an issue before with 10.1 OS. Where can I find a leak? I will return to the old system. Worked fine for me- no bugs whatsoever.

Reload 10.2. I had upgrade issues too with the Android runtime. I did a reload, but I didn't restore my content. Rather, I just made sure all my documents, pics, videos were on the SD card. I then download the few apps I really use on a daily basis. Night and day. It feels like a new phone again. 10.2 is much better than 10.1 in terms of features.

Damn, that sucks. I've been lucky my Q10 has been absolutely stable since the upgrade. And I love this version better than the previous one. I hope you get that resolved.

    100%

Doing a security wipe will most likely fix your issues.

is it possible to run a security wipe and download a copy of 10.2 from BB so to have a brand new phone? I would restore just the media after?

I agree. In general 10.2 works very well.
OP's issues are not acceptable, but downgrade should not be an issue.
As others have suggested do a backup of your pictures, documents etc. Personally I would just install the 10.2.0.1791 "leak" (same version the carriers have released in most parts of the world) and configure my device again.

Performing a security wipe will do more or less the same, unless the filesystem somehow is damaged.

Why would you do a security wipe AND download a copy of 10.2
Do one or the other. Though, I would suggest a security wipe in most cases, because it does fix odd fragmentation issues (rare, but I've had it happen to me before)
Backup full, then security wipe. If you haven't done it since you got the phone, it may take upwards of 1 hour, depending on how much data you have on there. If you do this regularly, it takes around 20-30 minutes
Then you can restore everything, and it should be running really smooth
HOWEVER, setting issues, like contact dark theme issues will be carried over if you restore settings (not if you restore only media/appdata)
REMEMBER that sideloading incorrectly can cause problems too! I have people PM me problems that are evidently due to stupidly sideloading runtime, and having bugs from that
Hence, If you do sideload system files (not android apps), I encourage performing a security wipe, THEN using an autoloader to load a clean OS

I would do a backup and then a software reload ( newest 10.2) and then restore.
Sometimes a software reload magically fixes bugs that come up.

Turn off Compression in Storage. It'll reduce the temporary freezes & times that you see the spinning clock.

Thanks gang--I did really enjoy the Q10 and may return to it after bug fixes --probably for Xmas. I love my curve, but am worried that it's pretty old and my die out on me at some point. I had been attempting to sideload android apps and wonder if that caused an issue.
I don't seem to be having a lot of electronic luck--now my playbook won't connect to wifi. UGH!
