I would trade in my blackberry priv for a credit towards the next BB android device. Do you think blackberry would offer some trade up/down credit?. Would you do it?

No they won't offer a trade in.... and not sure you could call it a trade up.

No, they're supposed to take up the market segment below the Priv, so it'd be a downgrade. Besides, I like the Priv.

I would trade my Priv in for the all touch screen 5.5 inch model coming out in November in a heartbeat. The Priv is a good phone I just don't use the keyboard. Plus buying a case is a Beep for the Priv. I have a death grip on my phone because of that curved screen that can't be protected

i understand it will be a downgrade for sure from specs but i think i might like the form factor or build quality better of the new phones. we will have to wait and see how they turn out. i just can't handle the build of my phone anymore. probably will try to warranty it later on

Not for these midrange models coming. A full VKB device with equivalent or better specs than the Priv would have me considering a change before the Priv requires replacing.

Trade for? Never. I love the slider form factor. Maybe a backup Mercury if the price is reasonable, but the all-touch there are much better choices outside of BlackBerry.

I'm form factor loyal, not brand loyal. Heck if Apple makes a PKB I'll consider it, but likely out my budget anyways.

Nah, PRIV is one of a kind. I don't think BBRY will make its predecessor after the Mercury has been launched. It will just be a full touch OR a physical keyboard phone. PRIV itself combines both worlds. Now i understand why it's nice to have both VKB and PKB. If it's just a quick chat then VKB will do but for writing long emails etc, none can beat the PKB.

I wouldn't trade for lower specs. And I use the keyboard.

Unlike bb10, specs are everything for Android. No specs no go.

And BlackBerry can't afford to do anything like that. BlackBerry is poor.

I'm so used to the Priv, I'd only replace it with a Priv 2.0.

It does something no other phone does. Hide a keyboard. I use it for scrolling, typing, better grip when taking one handed photos.

I do wish Priv launched with a FPS. The code typing does my head in.

You are kidding, right? The Priv is great! The PKB is awesome and I love the way I can slide it down and use it to type AND to scroll and then slide it out of sight. I would buy a Priv 2. Maybe eventually I would buy the rumored upcoming phone with a PKB as a back up phone if it has top of the line specs. A PKB is a must for me.

Same here, whether I use it for typing or not the pKB's have gotten so good for scrolling and shortcuts I'd want one even if you couldn't type words on them.
