I hope they eventually release two versions of the Priv. One running android and one running BB10.....So that we will at least have a choice.
Wasn't it rumoured that the QNX hypervisor would allow both android and bb10 run simultaneous on the Priv?

So it's a legal limitation instead of a technical one. Could BlackBerry just as easily make an iOS runtime if they had the approval of apple and their source code?
I don't know if it would as easy but yes they could.

I don't know what was rumoured but a hyper-visor can do this yes.

Nope. The whole reason I'm getting a Priv is because my job requires certain apps that are not available on BlackBerry 10 so it's either android or ios

You forgot DOS, CP/M and Vulcan. They must surely be included for that nostalgic experience...

What I'd really like to see is the Priv hardware running SailFish OS. That would be perfection for me. Not gonna happen though, with the locked down boot loader.

    No. No. No.

I used the platform since day one and as awesome as it is it has seen it's day. Just like webos, Sega, rare ware, and Pontiac. Times change.

If blackberry 10 continues then good. If it doesn't. It wouldn't bother me that much.

Just as long as I can still buy a blackberry phone with a keyboard.

I'm actually tired of the keyboard for personal phones. And I never thought I'd say that.... but time marches on.

For my Business line? Sure. I'm a Dinosaur. I still prefer the 9900. But I bought a Q5 for personal and the keyboard is in the way. I want a full screen and don't want a slide out keyboard. So it's the Z30 for me. I suspect I'll do the 9900 on the business line for another year or two and then just go touch screen. My Droid is more my go-to phone for weekends than my Q5. Not because of apps but because I just don't want a keyboard for a phone unless I'm pecking out business texts and emails all day.

Absolutely, love my Z30, but a BB10 version of the Priv would be an upgrade to consider.

It's hard to know for me since I like my passport but I would certainly consider it. I would prefer a 4.7 inch model though.
