No. Simply because BB10 is done. Even though we will get "updates", those will rather be smaller bugfix releases than serious feature releases. I wouldn't invest in an OS which is running on life support only, which simply is the case with BB10:
    No further API updates
    No further SDK updates
No further developments of Android runtime

I had this situation with Maemo and Symbian already, I'd rather jump the ship and get a future proof OS. While I'm thinking about keeping my Passport, I already bought it anyways, I surely won't drop multiple hundreds of bucks on hardware without software support.

+1M. The OS is in maintenance mode. No sense paying top dollars for a phone with an Os that has no future. Had there been a commitment for true support and growth of the OS beyond maintenance release than definitely I might have.

I hope they eventually release two versions of the Priv. One running android and one running BB10.....So that we will at least have a choice.

I would buy the android version if both were available on the Priv. Only time will tell if I would change back to bb10. There are features I will miss, but there are several apps I'm looking forward to, so I can't wait for Friday!

Not now that I've upgraded to the silver edition...

I would have if a BB10 version had been announced as well.

If it's the current state of BB10, BlackBerry are better off burning down their buildings than releasing a new BB10 device; at least they can make something on the insurance.

If it's the fetishized BB10 that CB keeps dreaming about, then I'd take one for $300 off-contract, with a unicorn leather flip case.

I admit I am no expert. But, I have a question. How come android apps work on BlackBerry 10 but apple's apps do not ?

Since Android is open source BlackBerry was able to create a compatibility layer.
Since IOS is closed source and would lob a giant sue ball BlackBerry is not able to do the same for IOS.

I would definitely, there is no comparison in everyday running and use experience from a BBOS 10 phone. I couldn't care less about smooth-running android apps either.

So it's a legal limitation instead of a technical one. Could BlackBerry just as easily make an iOS runtime if they had the approval of apple and their source code?
