Only if I knew bb10 was going to be supported. I prefer the os but I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a phone knowing that the os is dead. I'd probably just get another z30 if I decide to get another bb10 phone. Android seems to be the way I'm going to have to go. That being the case, BlackBerry seems to have it more secure than average. I'll look at the reviews and watch the videos for the next few months and decide where I'm going then. If the Priv still looks good at that point, then likely I'll get one.

If I had the option between Priv android and Priv OS10 I would definitely buy the one with OS10.

I think BlackBerry should make the priv for BB10. Chen said that it is not difficult for them to switch the software OS because at the base both QNX and Android are Linux based. From the hardware perspective the priv already has the same hardware buttons and keyboard as the passport.

Personally I don't mind giving android a try but if I don't like it, I would love to have the option to go back to the awesome BB10.

Only if there was continued support for the ecosystem and all programs within it like social apps like Facebook which are rubbish!

    BB10 never had an ecosystem

No matter what JC says QNX is not Linux based.

I love BlackBerry 10 and think it's the slickest to use but it does stink when you can't get your work apps to function properly. Every time my z30 and Android apps have an issue the Priv running Android sounds better.

My eBay app won't post listings anymore. Grrr

Probably not. The Passport works for me regarding work and the Priv will handle everything else. I think the way forward is BlackBerry Android tbh. BlackBerry 10 is great. BlackBerry 10 features on Android is a wet dream.

No sadly. I was going to buy an android or windows phone. I needed a change from bb10 as for me it's missing apps

I am not complaining and still a BlackBerry fan, it just no longer worked for me.

Only reason I have not moved on from my passport is because I have been waiting for priv

    NO.

I'm a very late adopter of BB10, having just picked up a Q5 last week. My work BB is a 9900 and I still like it very much for handling my business. The BB10 OS has impressed me significantly in the last week. I have a fairly new Android running 4.4 that I use for my spare phone, but the Q5 has all but taken over this task. I just need the Android for my Banking. If it was not for that, I'd be happy with just the Q5.

Honestly, I have an Android. Putting a BlackBerry twist on it is not for me. I stuck with BlackBerry because I happen to like BB OS. Even the legacy 9900 has merit still. I suspect BB10 will keep me happy for at least three more years. By then, who knows. There may be a new unique OS that we don't even know about that we will all want to try. But not Android. I already have one, it's Quad Core, has an amazing screen and storage, and I got it for well under $100 with no contract. Tough to compete with that.

Initially I would have been on the fence.

Seeing how they've brought a lot of the BlackBerry experience to the Priv, I'd have to say no for now.

Can you find your banking app with snap? That is the route I had to go.

I had totally forgotten about that. Again, I just got a BB10 device, so the discussion of SNAP and other work-arounds happened too long ago for me to remember.

No. Not with the app gap. Would stay with my Z30 or go to Nexus 6p. But luckily I stayed with BlackBerry and now get the best of BlackBerry and Android

No.... cause I don't think they'll make one.

And No.... cause even if they do, BB10 is on life support. Google trips over the cord and closes access to THEIR app store to outsiders and that would put us back to Converting and Sideloading. No Thanks.

BB10 is not going to be developed past 10.3.3. However it will be supported for long term.. So don't expect any new functionality ever in BB10 and you will always have app gap. Apps that are becoming more reliant on Play Services and harder to patch.
