Does anyone know if blackberry will ever produce a bb10 flip phone, along the lines of the 8220?

No. Nobody here knows.
Really, really doubt it. The Torch at least had carrier support and an OS 7 version.

Blackberry Passport running 10.3.2.500
flip phones = best phones. If BB makes one with BB10, I'll personalyy buy at least 4, one for each family member. ;)
It's a shame this form factor went out of fashion, Razr V3 was my favorite phone ever.
It'd not be as practical when combined with a touch screen though, as the whole thing gets pretty long. It would have to have toolbelt or capacitive keyboard for easy one-handed operation.
Samsung sph500i? I think- it was awesome- palm os color- flip phone. I rocked that thing for years

Moto RAZR had a killer look and V3 especially is my favorite too. The only bad thing is that the battery sucked.

Old school is part of the reason BlackBerry doesn't know how to promote BB10. Too much nostalgia IMHO. Let's help BlackBerry grow and let them become the innovative technology that they are working towards.
I still have my Bold 9700 series as well as my Torch 9810. I only by a NEW phone when my phone needs to be replaced. Those of you that have legacy devices working well, cool.
However, let's replace Blackberrys with new Blackberrys if we really intend to support BlackBerry.

Aren't flip phones rebounding big time in Japan? Thought I read that somewhere recently. Could be an option.

I too would buy a flip in a heartbeat

I have finally learned to accept that flip phones are never coming back (even though it's my favorite form factor). At least in the states. Korea and other East Asian countries still love the heck out of flip phones, and have actually made some pretty awesome ones. Here's an example: http://m.gadgets.ndtv.com/samsung-sm-g9098-1608
I honestly loved the BlackBerry Style, in fact I'd probably still be using it if it hadn't reached an untimely death at the hands of a busted-open perfume bottle in my purse :( If they ever make a new one you can bet your butts I'd buy it!

An improved Style 9670 would just be amazing

NO. Terrible idea.

If it was designed well, why not. If and only if it was designed well. Innovation is definitely BlackBerry 's only way back to profitability. And remember the Passport was criticised, and still sold well.
Sorry, I'd like to typo but my Q10 doesn't support it.
Shall we pencil it in as next year's flagship then?

Already done and I'm working on the slogan "Blackberry we are flipping our way back to #1!"
I hear ya my most fav phone was the Motorola Elite

Don't have an answer for you question but here's a very nice read related to flip phones and potential market

Simply
My first cellphone was a Motorola RAZR. My favorite thing was slamming the phone shut after a phone call. Who needed a dedicated hang up button anyway?
If BlackBerry made a flip phone, they would be the greatest laughing stock in the smartphone world (even more than the slider phone). And maybe that's exactly what they need. They don't market themselves anyway.

I loved that phone but mainly because it was quite cool looking and has an awesome golf game.
