    They could. But this is a blackberry. :-). It doesn't even matter who sells it at the end of the day. It's just a matter of how to get it "fast".

    Play store did have "Play Edition" phones on sale at one point, for Xperia Z, HTC M8 and Galaxy S4. Those disappeared shortly though.

    They had them because the were shipping with Stock android. Or google edition
