I can't seem to find any topic about that part of today's announcement, but CNBC's article's title, BB's tweet and the above quote are really what seems to be the biggest news to me.
BB's not just making an Android phone, they're working with Google on it. Even though there was speculation about it, I'm surprised it's one the first thing they mention upon acknowledging the very existence of the device. Should that mean we'll hear about the device on Sep 29th during Google's Nexus event? Should we expect more from this partnership than just GPS?

What are your thoughts?

Probably not.

Probably but really it's just Android for Work, BlackBerry is an Android for Work partner.

You're probably right, maybe I'm playing semantics in a language which is not my native one, but what struck me was that part of the sentence :
"What's unique about our Android phone is that we are collaborating with Google to bring the best of BlackBerry security and productivity to the Android ecosystem"

That's why I thought about something more than just Android for Work

If this phone does really well, I would think Google would want to work more closely with BlackBerry. Who knows, maybe they'll do more with the Android platform to secure it even more for all Android devices with Googles blessing. Just pure speculation on my part.
