Isn't it obvious that the phone is not doing well in sales due to the fact that it's so expensive? I've wanted a Priv since launch. But I'm running out of patience.

LG G5 is $99 with $50 in store credit and includes spare battery with cradle at a phone place here in Ontario.

Reaaallly when is there going to be a price drop on the Priv for contract price???

The Passport is still $150 on contract for Rogers, and it came out almost two years ago.

If only the die-hards buy it (regardless cost on or off contract), might as well make some money off of it...

Rogers plays with their pricing all the time. It's gone from 399, down to 299, then 199, and last I saw it was back up to 399.

Contract pricing isn't really controlled by BlackBerry themselves, unless they give incentives. And even then it's up to the carriers to reduce the price. They just get it at a wholesale price.

You're right. Same with Bell. But if you say someone else is offering it for less $, they usually match it.

So $399 is expensive to you? That's $300 cheaper than when it first came out. How cheap do you want it to be? $399 is a great price for the Priv

You're telling me that you think 399 with contract is a good price in July 2016?

Is it not cheaper than the $700 asking price that T-Mobile, and At&t were asking? Or Verizon asking $720?

Perhaps the confusion lies in the fact that buying phones from Canadian carriers differs from buying from US carriers. In Canada a Priv typically retails for about 800. If you pay 400 on contract, the remaining 400 is subsidized over two years in the plan.

Not confused. The thread clearly states the Priv is $399 and $199 on contract. Which means to me you pay less than the MSRP in return for staying with the same provider for so many years. Here in the states you either pay for the phone out right or agree to pay so much a month until the device is paid off. Which technically isn't a contract but a loan

Thank you. I was hoping someone would say something. Like seriously dude? How cheap can you be. Just wait another year or two or jump ship already if the PRIV is too expensive.

Believe it or not, it's Blackberry that makes them price the phone like that. It's ridiculous since Samsung S7 have that $200 bonus trade in with anything that isn't older than the iPhone 5.
