Why are my BBM contacts showing up in my contacts in my phone app?

I am using a Blackberry priv and I noticed that all my BBM contacts are showing up in my Phone app's contact list. This is the contact list when you click on the phone app and you hit contacts. However in my contacts app I have thee BBM contacts box unchecked and it doesn't show up there. I am trying to delete them but they are so many and they keep reappearing. Also when I hit delete it gives me a message saying "You can't delete contacts from read-only accounts, but you can hide them in your contacts lists." Mind you bbm contacts is uncheck in my contacts. And again this is the contact list portion of my phone app and not my general contact list/contacts app. Please help me fix this.

The contacts icon in the phone app takes you to the contacts app. It's not separate. This is just the way Android works with the stock apps. There may be another phone app out there that has it's own contact list. I haven't looked.
