Is it unlocked or a carrier version? (T-mobile, AT&T, etc)?
I have a PRIV on the T-Mo Network and I probably have more apps that most any user out there..... As per optimization process on updates it lists 165 applications. That said, my phone takes under 2 mins to completely boot up and perhaps another minute or two to completely load all the background apps and processes, however it's at the homescreen in under 2 mins.
Have you updated your phone regularly?
I got the phone direct from BlackBerry.
it is unlocked.
it has all the latest updates.
can't figure this out.
Mine takes forever too.
Was it always that way?
Shouldn't take that long, 1-2 minutes is acceptable to the homescreen. Back up anything you need and do a factory reset.
I'm 1 minute 10 seconds from total off to homescreen - including boot PIN entry.
it's been so long since I had the phone new so I can't tell. But I wish I can have mine like others here sub 2 Min's.
Go go factory reset.
before I do a factory restore, can someone confirm all I have to do is make sure backup to goggle is turned on in the settings from the drop down menu?
I read somewhere I need to do a force backup with Google.
How do I do that?
I don't want to lose anything.
also, will all my apps be reinstalled as they were on my phone?
All your apps will be reinstalled, but around half will lose their settings because some developers aren't up to speed yet.
Assuming your contacts, calendar, and email are in the cloud, just make sure to backup whatever media or documents you might have on your device. Media card will be untouched.
thanks. so all I have to do is make sure 'automatic restore' is turned on in the backup and restore section of the settings right?
Yup.
mine takes a minute or two
After factory reset, unlocked priv boot up time with no required pin for startup is 44.32 seconds. How about when its loaded with apps? No wonder why it takes so long
The bootloader verifies every file in the OS every time it boots. That’s how it prevents any alterations to the OS.
That's a good thing.
