Nope, already checked and was told it is 100% eligible and to go back in tomorrow. Since I'm such a phone wh0re, I'll probably order an unlocked one from BB as well anyway so I'll have one of each LOL

That may be for you but not the same for everyone else, everyone has different plans.
That's great if you can keep it (and I would do the same if I had it) but I think the majority of cellphone buyers are in the position of not having a grandfathered plan to rely on. As such, for the majority in Canad at least, it's not worth buying phones on contract. Plus a lot of carriers are doing everything they can to get users off their grandfathered plans. Rogers tried to pull a fast one with a couple of friends trying to get them to upgrade to new phones at the expense of leaving their old grandfathered plans. Luckily I talked them out of it.
I know Virgin too will to everything to get you off an older plan which is why I only buy my phones unlocked now.
But if I could go back in time, I would have jumped on one of those 6GB unlimited plans. Too bad when they were out I was on a Bold where 500 MB would always be more than enough data for my needs so I never bothered trying to get one.
I also bought the Xperia Z from the Sony store in NYC and could not get AT&T 4G or LTE. Had to return it. Another reason why most US consumers buy from carriers, the phones work the way they are supposed to.with minimum headache.
Well, the good news is that T-Mobile just confirmed that both the LTE 12 band, as well as Wi-Fi calling will work for the Priv, on their network.
Well my contract was going to be up next year with Rogers.
Since I was going to loose all my discount on my contract I decide to make a early renewal.
They wanted me to pay $10 more per month on a 2 yr contract that works out to $240, but if I wanted to save $10 I would have to pay them $250 up front, so I decided to buy the phone unlocked from shop Crackberry and s#$%c Rogers, why should I give them more money, because we here in Canada are getting hosed by the carriers.
When I buy the priv end of next yr. I will decide which route to take.
