I am looking to update my Z30 and want all-touch but as it seems that won't be an option, I will most likely be getting this phone and just keep the physical keyboard hidden. Just wondering how many other people are in the same position as me.

i am holding out for an all-touch without a keyboard I don't wanna use that adds bulk and makes buying a case difficult. Let's see what's coming yet. Not giving up hope yet. We don't have to buy this one. There's gotta be something better coming.

I think you should try the slider phone. I know you used to be a huge Bold fan, so maybe you'll find the love for the physical keyboard again . If you don't like using the physical keyboard, then just use the software keyboard!

I'll probably use the virtual keyboard because I'm used to it now, but I can't see myself completely not using the PKB.

Assuming I get the phone lol.

Maybe. My z30 only has a year on it and it's rolling right along just fine. Not exactly looking for a new phone right now

Don't know until I try the device...BlackBerry has the best VKB and at one point it thought I would never go back to a PKB...but here I am on the Passport.

I'm just gunna have to wait and see what the device feels like using both.

I am not sure until I use it. If it is really dual curved screen than I will be buying it anyway...

That's the good thing about the slider. If you don't want to use the pkb then you don't have to. I would be using the pkb majority of the time. But there are situations where I need to type silently and the vkb will come in handy. I have the Silent Keys app and it doesn't cut it.

I'll use it once in a while, but I'm buying it mainly for the upgrade. I only have the passport for the specs, the z30 is way to slow and outdated. So can't wait for this slider!

i bet ill use the physical keyboard for a few weeks, then it will end up being faster just to use the virtual one so ill use that.

I guess most of the time I'd use it as an all touch, only when typing out a long email or text would I slide it out so to speak.

Who said this slider is going to be bulky? Not in 2015, this phone should be as thick as the Z30, if not thinner. That's a good thickness. The iPhone 6+ for example looks quite ridiculous, just too thin for its large size. A very unproportional device that bends at will.

The cool thing I would imagine having a slider full touch is people will probably think you only have a normal full touch. Then all of a sudden, you gracefully slide out the keyboard and jaws start dropping with WOW from the people paying attention to you. If BlackBerry pulls this off properly and equips these sliders with the proper up to date specs, they can have a true unique winner here.

I would assume I will use the touchscreen only. I have to say that I'm prepared to challenge my own pre-conceptions and so yes, I will open my mind to the keyboard, if the device has one. All my pre-conceptions may be proved wrong :-) I quite dislike the way tablets lose a lot of their screen real estate when the virtual keyboard pops up. The slide out keyboard would help some of the time in that respect.

If it doesn't, then this device will be a failure. Every slider has included a touch screen alternative.

Waiting to see the final product, the renders and sneak peek on stage don't match the patent design seen here recently, the patent design would make it fairly thin compared to the renders.
