Not into the Slider form factor... Physical Keyboard kind of girl, so I'd have to deal with that thing fully erect 80% of the time... It just doesn't work for me... Try another form factor and I'll be willing to give it a whirl on my second line...

I buying ten of them on day of launch BECAUSE of the name!

    Just kidding.

I dunno. I have a Z10 as my only phone, so... ...been looking for an upgrade. As of right now I am leaning towards the Classic if I stay with Verizon, Passport if I do not.

However with all of the news of the Priv that came out today it is a consideration but I still have some concerns. For one, I hate the look and feel of Android. I just find it annoying. What ever BlackBerry has put onto it will be a huge determination for me.

The other big factor is whether or not a Google account/Gmail address is required. If the phone can be set up with BlackBerry ID then I am all in (because something will be needed for PIM). If it requires a Google account only for the initial set up because it is Android but then this account can be disabled or removed, then I am all in (and I would be interested to see how much of my old Android account stuff comes to the phone. Android is strange like that).

You used to be able to skip the Google Account/Gmail login altogether back in the day but I am reading conflicting information on whether or not it can be skipped with Lollipop. You used to also be able to restrict, stop, and even remove not only the Google Account but also Google Services as well (and despite what Google tells you yes GMaps works without GS), but once again, not sure if this is possible or not with Lollipop.

So, if I can have a Google-free Android BlackBerry, then most likely maybe yes

Unless there's a version running BB10, not me. I don't like the Android OS at all and BlackBerry isn't going to be able to change that.

I've actually had it for a few weeks already and yes, before you ask, battery life is excellent.

But in reality I'll be selling my passport and buying it.

i like the name Priv. PlayBook is a name i liked a lot less but was happy it wasn't printed anywhere on the device. I think Leap has it's name on it somewhere; I wonder if the Priv will too?

Name aside I will be getting one. My Z10 is getting old and I have been waiting and hoping for a slider to come out. My favorite phone has always been my old 9800 Torch.

I guess at this point there is no possibility of a dual boot or other hybrid. Love bb10 but the lack of Google services was getting more and more noticeable, with things like Uber.

I would get a bb10 one for sure..... I would get the android one only if swipe gestures are added and the hub is there.

I asked this in another thread but haven't really gotten an answer. Has there been anything written about how "blackberry" the phone will be? Will there be the hub, peak, and flow? Will the gestures be blackberry? My plan is up and I'm deciding between the passport and slider.
There won't be any peek and flow as these are UI features of the OS.

The HUB, as an application, will be part of the Priv device as part of BlackBerry's take on android, which will include the BlackBerry experience suite announced in March.
