A user on the blackberry.com forums got the screenshot for me. And the community XDA is being very helpful at teaching me tools and processes for navigating around the OS files even with it not being rooted.
The boot animation on Android is made of pictures and each picture is a frame. If you like specific time of boot animation, simply extract anywhere in file manager, find it and set it as wallpaper or something else. Voila!

I opened the image in landscape and took a screen shot. The image is more clear and even more minimal in effect. You can pinch to zoom a bit bigger and do a screen shot and set as wall paper too
