I tried it, this only allows you to view your SMS, call logs and some basic notifications. I want to BBM and email from my work computer. You can view the entire phone with this app if its rooted, but we arent quite there yet. Seems odd they would release a phone without Blend, but Ill be patient and trust its coming.

I'm liking the form factor so far -- the OS -- not so much. But I will give it time. Part of my lack of instant conversion is how thoroughly they've sublimated the familiar BB touches to the background, so that it will pass for Android users. I get that, given the relative size of the Android market and the BB market. But It is a little disheartening in a sort of "its so good you'd hardly believe its a Blackberry!" way. Maybe its more subtle than I'm appreciating yet, and there's actually a plan to gradually entice Android users to desire the benefits of a Blackberry (other than security which is the main BB-centric selling point). I am having to unlearn a lot of BB habits with the Priv. When I pick up a "straight" Android device, I can figure it out much more easily (though I don't like the results). Here, I had the expectation that I would be able to quickly and effortlessly tweak the Priv to have it recognizably a BB. I got that the default settings had to be necessarily pitched toward Android. I think the generally positive reviews from Android people have validated that judgment. But it seems as if there was less thought about preserving the good in BB than there has been in trying to appeal to and mollify Android users. But I need a few more days to see if that's so, or just my slow learning curve.

It's Monday back at work after the launch weekend and I am missing this the most today. Love looking at my Priv checking/replying to messages, but would rather prefer using Blend on the computer in front of me instead.

Whats disheartening is there are no Android equivalents that can even begin to work like Blend aside from VNC. Problem with the latter is you need a rooted device to install and run the server.

Disappointed this wasn't available at launch. Definitely is a great productivity tool that I'm not happy to lose.

I've been using Pushbullet for a few days now. It's not Blend but it has basically the same messaging functionality.

Thanks Nick, this is something. Obviously we all want Blend. Ill keep after BlackberryHelp and see if I can get a direct answer. Its really disappointing after 10 years of loyalty to a brand, I cant get a response from them to a legitimate question.

I guess they don't want to say that they've put all hands on deck for squashing Priv app bugs.

Maybe they figured that Android alternatives are "good enough" for now.

Pushbullet is helpful for sure, but it's no Blend.
