Funny thing how everyone hates WhatsApp... sure I mean they are Facebook.

But WhatsApp was precisely the reason why I even made a brief stop on BB10 in the first place. If WA was still working on my Pre 3 I probably never left.

I can't get the Android WhatsApp to work on my Passport with OS 10.3.2.2876. I can install it, but it hangs on "Looking for backups." I've tried everything from copying the backups from the BB version to my SD card in various folders (WhatsApp/Backups, etc.) and all sorts of other "tricks" including the renaming of the backup files to what WhatsApp tells you on their support site. On one occasion (of multiple tries) it found a backup, but when it loaded it didn't have all my previous messages, so I started over. Of course, I've reinstalled it several times, even did a Cobalt modification for Google Play Services (wouldn't run), but bottom line is that it just hangs on the Looking for Backups spinning wheel.

This is all in anticipation of losing WA at the end on the year on BB.

Anyone able to do this, and if so, how?

On my Q5, Android Whatsapp cant send pictures or video. But i've seen other people use it without a problem. Obviously im looking for a solution ahead of time! Lol (I can chat and receive pictures).

I installed Cobalt's method.. and then I used the Lucky Patcher to patch Whatsapp (dont know if I HAD to patch it, did it anyways).

Found a slight issue with the reply... or perhaps I should say not really thought out.

If a contact sends you more than one message that you haven't responded to, you wouldn't know what those messages are because it would just say "X new messages" or "X new messages from Y chats". The instant reply isn't quite useful that way.
