I absolutely hate the name. In trying to instill the sense of security and privacy with the "priv", the name brings to mind other things: perv, *****, privy, and any other p-words that may be on your mind. It's a great phone, and I'll be telling people I have a BlackBerry Venice.
What would you name the phone? I would've just kept the name BlackBerry Venice.
I would prefer Pride, Prime, and the like which are in line with the good old tradition of Bold, Storm, Torch, Tour, Curve, Pearl, Style . . . Passport, Classic, and Leap.
BlackBerry A10 (the A for Android). I know any letter with10 following is synonymous with the BB10 OS. But seeing as the consumer market is oblivious to BB10, it could easily settle in with that naming convention.
The other one I came up with is BlackBerry Ascension!
BlackBerry Venice would be classy and nice. I like BlackBerry Visa too.
We shouldn't forget that nowadays it can be difficult to find a suitable name due to licensing and other brand property reasons. Therefore, even BlackBerry Visa could get difficult. BlackBerry Shield, which I found quite appealing, would probably be impossible because of the Nvidia Shield series.
As I said on another thread, they should resurrect the Torch name.
In fact, I've just decided that I'll rebrand mine as the Torch. Maybe Torch Prime as a way to differentiate it, but from now on I'm just going to call it Torch until it sticks.
