I hope there are enough niche users to continue marketing a product with keyboard by BlackBerry. I have enough experience with both virtual and physical keyboard to say that I have no desire to own a device without it. Would if I had to do so, of course; but would much rather not.

I have friends who miss the keyboard, but cannot afford a device outright or cannot afford the luxury of a contract or installments.

Agreed! BlackBerry is superb in managing high volumes of emails BUT if they discontinue any pkb then it will also be my last BlackBerry as well!

Will the use a passport silver as backup!!

If Priv would be BB's last (pkb) smartphone, then I'd stick with the Priv until it dies.
If it dies and I can't find a Priv any longer then I purchase either a note or s7/s8 with Keyboard accessory:
