either. but without the slider keyboard!
This is actually a rather tough question for me. I love the efficiency and intuitive pattern of BB10. However, it might be interesting to have something new without BlackBerry loading billions into a new OS. Being able to snap chat without getting my account frozen or use a credit unions fully functional app would be nice. However, there are certain features my money will not compromise with. The touch BBRY keyboard is light years ahead of every other. Try typing with an IPhone... I can't make it a sentence before wanting to huck it across the room. Gestures and the hub have to be there. If BBRY thinks I want 10 different apps for each messaging system, I will buy Z10's and passports that will last me.
Obviously it's a cost benefit. I have to have more information to make a clear decision but once you go BB10, anything else feels archaic.

The only correct answer is BB10 with Google play services.

i'd vote but there's no third yet to be engineered, hybrid Android/BlackBerry OS option.....:raised-eyebrow:
A poll would not allow people to express why they vote for their preferred software.

BB10 with Android in a hypervisor VM. I'd up the specs to 4 gigs of RAM.
Furthermore, let me say that I'd like BB10 to be updated and grow as a platform. That means Qt 5 OpenGL QML and cool stuff we can't even imagine. BB10 was supposed to be a platform and with that means stimulating developer interest and building a third party ecosystem. This hasn't happened under Chen like it did under Thor. If Chen is secretly building an awesome relaunch of BB10, he should make sure the slider uses it.

I would prefer it was BB10 with improvements for running Android apps, but it's now getting pretty clear that it is going to be full Android with the BlackBerry Experience.
If it runs Android, I'll be buying it. If it runs BB10, I'll shake my head and realize that Chen truly is lying whenever he says that saving the hardware business is a priority for him.
BB10 had years to become successful and it is only selling worse with each passing quarter. They can either try a new strategy now, or continue to waste resources on what has become the largest commercial failure there has ever been in the smartphone industry. Up to them I guess.
I simply LOVE my BlackBerry running on BB10. If I wanted Android, I would have an Android phone.
Can hardly wait to see what this forum is going to look like once this is officially announced! There will be enough posts to get us all through the release date.
Just think, we are going to have to go through this all over again

Don't want a slider
He is preparing an "awesome re launch". By the looks of it, he's prepping Android 10.

Whatever they do.... it sounds like there'll be some disappointed folks around here.
We need to all be thankful that BlackBerry is still around to leave us in limbo like this

Bb10
bb10 just runs so smoothly and I never have a security concern. I might give an Android BlackBerry a spin but I'd rather just keep bb10. Based on sales and market share I understand the move, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I actually thought about that too!
Only 18 votes so far, so I'll update the poll now.
I voted Android, but I would love to see the phone launch BB10 and then allow full Android to run instead of just apps. Maybe BB will directly sell BB10 version unlocked while carriers will get an Android version.
Such is the nature of polls. Just like when you vote in an election, there's no Comments section on the ballot.
HOWEVER, you're in luck. Everyone can continue to discuss their choice here in the thread as they have been.
BB10.
If i wanted an Android i would have gotten one years ago.

BB10.
A properly secured and tweaked Android OS with a Hypervisor would end up nearly identical to BB10, which would be a lot of work and trouble for no reason.
Attempting to comply with OHA requirements to get Google Play would neuter much of the advantage Blackberry would have over other manufacturers, and any custom software will be hacked to work on other devices shortly after release.
Plus if the slider DOES actually take off with Android, the many many other Android manufacturers will take notice and drown the market in clones and copies (with varying levels of patent infringement).
If the leaks are correct, looks like a BB10 skinned Android running full GPS. Skins always run the risk of lagging issues, but if that's the only option going forward, I'm still in as I already play with Android. It will be nice when Android M arrives and the option of granular permissions FINALLY arrives (for the non root crowd). It would also be great if the skinned version included BB10's implementation of Quick Settings and Active Frames but I'm guessing it won't.
If that's the route, then it's a compromise, but if it comes with thepkbtouchpad keyboard with actions & shortcuts, Hub and other BB goodies then it should be a nice blending of both worlds. And with any luck, they'll stay with the utterly fantastic Passport form factor as well. The slider looks interesting for people who want the 16x9 slab option, but I love the Passport design more. :)
BB10. If I wanted Android I would buy from an Android player with experience. If BlackBerry switches to Android I'm done with the brand. If I'm going to have to switch from BB10 to something else, it will likely be iOS. After dealing with years of the one of the worst app situations I'll go to the best.
