So, Venice is thought to have Android and possibly a BB10 variation as well. If both Android and BB10 versions are sold, which would sell more and in what ratio?
I would say 3:1 Android sales vs BB10 sales.

Maybe, but when everyone is having problems with the android version and complaining about everything, it still hurts Blackberry.
They should stick with there own echo system.
Android for sure. =)

There a thread on this.
http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...-bb10-1033183/
That thread is a about preferences.
This thread is about expectations.
Who the hell really even wants a slider anyways....?
I clicked this on my Passport.
Think this is not asking about personal preference. For sure lots of people who checks out Crackberry forums would prefer BB10, but Android vs BB10 which would actually sell more of both are released?
For me, Android would sell more to the general masses.
Personal use: if there's a blend of BB10 + Google Play Services and app support, that's the best.
I am sure there are more android users wishing back a physical keyboard than blackberry users total. Just this reason would already bring lots of android users IMO

Most likely Android. We have already seen the limit of BB10 in terms of selling potential and it can't get any worse.
Neither...

The question was not if any of them will sell a lot, but one of them must sell more...
Exactly, the other post basically asks your preferred OS I'm asking which OS would sell more and what ratio of sales. So you might be a diehard BB10 fan and that's the only choice you'd pick and may jump ship if they don't have a BB10 option but you should have an opinion that a BB10 slider would sell 5x as much as an Android version if BlackBerry sold both.

I would so by the bb10 version

The logical answer has to be Android.

I agree with Graham. I personally want the slider with BlackBerry 10 on it, but In my opinion, the Android slider will probably outsell the BlackBerry 10 version. I've seen a lot of Android central guys comment that if the slider has Android on it, they will buy it. if it is sold with the two variants I think it will sell very well but Android will definitely sell more than the BlackBerry 10 version. Heck, I may even buy both to see how the Android incorporates the BlackBerry skinning. I do own a Galaxy Tab s8.4 tablet so I've played with Android and my girlfriends mini droid. I still prefer BlackBerry 10 over Android, but am curious on how BlackBerry skins it. Only time will tell.
Rocking a Z30 on Verizon
The Android version would definitely outsell BB10. Yet, if the Slider is successful, some might give BB10 a shot too.

Would carriers even be willing to offer a BB10 version of the slider?
I'm not sure why you say that about BB10. It sold much better under Thor than under Chen, but it is selling astonishingly well right now given that Chen pulled out of consumer sales and is marketing exclusively, if at all, to enterprise users. It was a terrible move because enterprise is really just a collection of consumers with strong consumer preferences these days.
In short, Chen sucks. But, BB10 could be very successful with another CEO or another company backing it.

In the case of 2 variants, android would sell more on the masses... but I'd probably stick with bb10 unless android apps still lag on the next runtime update

Great thread. This will be a very important ratio to track. A high ratio of Android to BB10 will be good news, I think, because it means the phone is reaching beyond the hard core fanbase. I hope BB will publish this number for the slider.
My guess is 3:1 Android.
