    I asked this on android central too, but figured I'd ask over here for help. On my old BlackBerry Passport I could push and hold the period button and it would dictated my speech to text for email, sms, bbm etc. I cannot figure out how to turn that on for my BlackBerry Priv. My buddy has a Priv and he has a microphone above his comma on his virtual keyboard which I don't have. And my menu button on my period button has my microphone grayed out. It's weird though cause I can send voice memos so it's accessing it???

    Any help??

    On the Priv the voice to text using the physical keyboard is fickle at times. Typically when using the PKB on the Priv a quick tap of the zero button brings up the voice to text, pressing and holding the zero key does not initiate voice to text. (The screenshot you affixed leads me to believe this is the issue, that you are pressing and holding the zero key to activate voice to text. A quick tap will do.) Whereas when using the VKB pressing and holding the comma key summons the voice to text function. If your issue is that you are unable to bring up voice to text while using the physical keyboard be certain you are doing this. Check your settings as well by heading over to Settings > Language and Input to be sure you have your Voice to Text settings adequately set and that you don't have Google now disabled.

    Thanks but even my vkb does not have the microphone button on it to pull it up. I hold comma and this is all that happens...,

    Yes! I just tested... that is the issue... enable it...

    Edit: just realized you said you can't turn it on... weird... But that is definitely why...

    Have you disabled google apps? I disabled google now, because it's garbage, and it got rid of the google search bar and all, but you also lose the ability to do voice to text. It's part of the google app.

    I have Google now enabled, I don't mind it I find it a bit faster than the bb assistant on passport but not integrated enough. Like I can't use send bbm to. So that works...

    I don't think so, and I use Google now daily so that works. Would there be something else to disable it?? Thanks for your help too. Here's my Google now, settings, voice

    I think I got it. I had to turn this on. It gave me some warning saying that the BlackBerry keyboard features wouldn't work but it seems to works fine
