From various threads, it appears that it will be dependent on AT&T and having their sim card and, if out of country, that could be a problem.

You can also purchase on Amazon now at $499 the non-carrier version so all updates would come immediately regardless of what Sim you use. Might be worth paying the extra?

There are a number of listing on Amazon now with the PRIV at $500.... didn't see any that say only 10 left, so have to wonder just how many of these "firesale" PRIV there are... and just how cheaply were they sold - how cheap will the price go if they don't sell quickly?

Has anyone verified HOW to update the phone? I got mine today and works great but with the t-mobile Sim in it it didn't find any updates and now I have to wait 24 hours before I can try again.

Do I need to borrow a friend's att Sim to update it?

I wonder if i should have spent the extra hundo for a fully unlocked version.
