Alan G : We are all waiting for friday

Me : is there a lot of people wanting this phone?

Me : is the supply good?

this is a good sign, and if the sales reps push the phone and get behind it then it will be a success

Never expected that there would be a queue for a BlackBerry device... I thought it only happens for the phones of the fruit company :

Only the real numbers are relevant. So called buzz is worth nothing without actual sales. And unfortunately Blackberry's new phones always generated quite some buzz but got poor reviews and sold accordingly at the end.

    Am curious.
On that carrier, what other devices can be had for the same "$249" under the same conditions as the OP?

Just trying to get a sense of what customers at that price will be comparing the Priv to.
That hardware keyboard as a standout feature in the Android world should definitely be a "plus".

Going to take my chances and show up at my local corporate store in person (right when the doors are due to open). Have only seen two other people in the last two years with a Q10 in hand (have never observed a Classic or Passport outside of a store). Most people I know don't even realize BlackBerry is still in business.

To give perspective I pre-ordered a Nintendo 3DS. Five months later I became part of the Ambassador's program when the price dropped by $80.

As much as I want BlackBerry to succeed, I guess I am banking on the ignorance of others.

And you will be fine, assuming that store got stock. It was hit or miss for Passport and Classic, stores got 0-3 units.

Regarding my Q10 purchase, as was reported by other CrackBerry users, I expected to be talked out of my decision for a BlackBerry. Not only did the CSR not do that, but wanted my opinion about BlackBerrys in general, which I provided. Apparently, he had family members that wanted the device. I've always shopped at that location, and never has a CSR come across an ignorant or tried to talk me out of my decision (not that it would matter; I am somewhat stubborn).

I will be HIGHLY surprised if every ATT corp store has the Priv in stock the first day, for two reasons. 1- this hasnt happened for BlackBerry since the Z10, 2- I doubt BlackBerry's first production run made enough units to even do this. I hope that Im wrong but Im pessimistic at this point.

I sure hope (as an investor as well) that we can return to the days of glory.

However, I'm not sure if the rep was referring to lines outside, or inside the store - big difference.
