There is a sensor, top of phone just to the left of speaker grill, above the BB logo, make sure it's clean. If you have a screen protector, very small almost invisible dust/dirt can get caught there. Take a vacuum cleaner or air duster and blow/suck out the grill it's-self. Don't use too much vac/pressure, there is a speaker cone in there.
If that doesn't work, press and hold the power button for at least 32 seconds, ignore the buzzes and flashes on screen.
If that doesn't work, check this thread:

Run Blackberry Virtual Expert (in google store or on phone already) and run the various tests. If playing with the charging cord occasionally fixes it, it may be hardware in that holding the phone or pressing on it while trying to insert the usb cord might be putting pressure on a lose circuit.

    Do you have a warranty?

    Good luck.

I got problem also on my Leap but the better solution I have found after reload software a hundred times is to open the back cover and disconnect the battery and reconnect again it work! try it never reload again software

    Hi guys,

I had the same problem due to a small water accident. But I just solved it by cleaning and drying the inside in the back of the phone.

    Here is how:
Open the phone and take off the 7 screws in the bottom, to remove the plastic protection, and the other 2 pairs of screws on the top and on the right side, around the battery connectors. Remove the metal protection on the right. Now you can disconnect the two battery connectors (one on the top and other on the bottom right) and the screen connector (on the right between the battery connectors, which is usually marked with a marker). Clean them gently with a clean brush and dry it with a hair blow drier (be careful to not overheat it). Then reconnect it back and turn your phone on to have a try. The touchscreen will be working!

Here is a video that may help you to understand the steps:

and an article that may help to get familiar with the pieces too:

I hope this can work for you, guys!
