I've had this phone for over 24 hours now and it's still getting molten hot, even when idle, the battery drops about 10 percent an hour. I love the phone but if this heat continues I'm going to be trading it back in by Friday

Mine got hot a lot at first too. But now it's pretty good. Make sure everything is up to date.

    1) Have you manually updated the OS and all BlackBerry Ltd apps in Google Play? Also, update all other apps.

    2) Please check your mail accounts' sync settings. Sync interval "Never" when push is supported.

    3) Turn adaptive brightness off for battery drain.

    4) There's a ton of syncing going on the first 24-48 hours. Should be better by Friday unless there is some serious issue with your device.

CB Nation, what else am I missing?

The BlackBerry Priv runs warm when the email accounts are synchronizing and BlackBerry applications have not been updated. Check for OS updates as well.

Update: after about 48 hours it has seemed to calmed down quite a bit. The back doesn't seem to be getting as hot now and driving into work today I lost less than 1% battery as opposed to over 10% yesterday.

Although I can't say my own Priv could be given the name, I give you huge props for the creative and funny thread title.

Just being pedantic here... the Priv is really a 2015 phone, not 2016...

Haha that's true, too. Although I guess it depends on the carrier involved (if any).

Sounds to me it's just the initial sync like many have reported.
