Assuming we have to ditch BB10 for a skinned version of Android I would assume BlackBerry won't be allowing root.

My point being that moving to Android would begin to impact of what information leaks out of my phone.

Having a rooted Android device allows for the use of xposed framework to limit what goes on with the device and the apps running.

I do hope that BlackBerry allow us to have greater control over what's happening than other Android OEM's as frankly that's why I have a BlackBerry in the first place.

    Thought?

new versions of android come with enhanced security out of the box allowing some of the things exposed helped with. I assume BB will have added tweaks as well under the hood

The only reason I might use an android device is only for root access and the things that I can do when the phone is rooted
