Is there a way to backup the blackberry priv to your computer other than titanium backup or google's "backup and restore".

You have to install a third party sync client like NINE sync client.

I'd suggest doing backups via the specific apps. Then place a copy of the completed data backup file on your computer or in a cloud storage directly via your Priv.

Ps: if you use exchange email or GMail, all your Calendar, Contacts and Mail is already 'backed up'...

Not, yet. Remember, this is really an Android device. Hence the likes of BlackBerry Link, won't work...

I've decided to not use office 360 cuz I like the way my PC is setup with office business but I know here there has been mention of third party sync apps. Anybody have any experience with a good reliable one.

Sync or backup? They're two different things, and I think you're confusing them.

What are you trying to back up?

Let's clarify I'm not interested in backup! It's the classic synchronization of Microsoft Office contacts calendar notes tasks to device. What is a good albeit reliable third party solution to the absence of BlackBerry Link?

This thread is about backup. Read the OP again. Why would you bring your question here?

If you just want to back up then Airdroid on google play works great. Basically you view your entire phone on your computer...so can just save everything over.

I am waiting for the Desktop Manager BlackBerry apparently promised.

The phone should never had made it to market without one. I should be able to plug my phone into my computer at night, have it charge and have it back up all data, pictures, music, every single thing to my computer automatically.

    Just like all previous BlackBerrys...

In the meantime, is there a free app that will do that? That will literally back up EVERYTHING on my Priv to my computer just by plugging it in?

The Priv is an Android device and android is built to backup your phone to google's cloud. Blackberry never promise a desktop software for its' Android device, so I don't know where you got that story from.

backup on windows desktop. Needs to install an Android app and windows application http://www.fjsoft.at/en/

Has support for 3rd party desktop PIM apps like Outlook, but doesn't need it so also can just store to it's internal database / file.

Well haven't tried cross restoring on other device.

BlackBerry made backing up the phone and restoring so easy with Blackberry 10 .

I guess I can place all my personal info in some cloud that could get hacked.

Pardon my stupid question...when you say already backed up...is that because the Priv is "sync'ed" with your desktop/laptop and all your emails, contacts, and calendar are there already (because the two are mirror image, same same, etc.). Being a tech *****, I don't know the right terminology, LOL. Thanks in advance.
